Best Bakery -- not refined, not French, just good donuts
Mel-O-Glaze grosses me out. There are always flies buzzing around inside the display case. Just my two cents.
Just dessert- St. Paul-Friday night
I always think that the chocolate cake at Coffee News is really amazing-and it's a fun place to chat. Never been a real fan of their "other food" but desserts and coffee they get.
New breakfast spot
I have had huge pregnancy cravings for Maria's corn pancakes! I think I've been there once a week in the last month. Make sure to get an order of cojito cheese for people to share on the side. It's kind of like parmesan, but when added to the butter and syrup, it's this amazing sweet/salty mix. And they have ceramic mugs:)
I think I've found the best sandwich in MSP
Had a pretty dang good mushroom and cheese with carmelized onions today at Cheeky Monkey (with a side of grits!)...not sure if it's the BEST, but I liked it...
Best atmosphere for martinis?
Well, I'm pregnant, so I didn't try the martinis, but my friends did. We had a great girl's night out at WA Frost a few weeks ago, in the lounge. Comfy cozy seating, good service, pretty good happy hour deals between 4-6.
Good venue for book club?
Looking for someplace where people can get wine and food (appetizers/desserts) as well, but that maybe has couches as well as tables.
Good venue for book club?
I'm hosting this month, and since I live in Maple Grove, which is far for most people in our group, I decided to host in restaurant or coffee house. We have met previously in the lounge at WA Frost which was great-looking for something similiar. Most people are coming from Roseville or Minneapolis-but St. Paul would be OK too. Any ideas??
Need suggestions for a place to eat lunch near Energy Park Drive and Snelling in St. Paul
Love Bonai-especially the Brandy Chicken. Finnish Bistro (in St. Anthony Park) always has lovely soups and bread. The flatbread pizza is not bad either. Desserts are yummy too.
Looking for Comfort Food
In Brooklyn Park the 50's grill is great for comfort food. Love the chicken pot pie and the pie in general!
Whats For Dinner? Part XXXIV
Made a Greek mac and cheese from a Martha Stewart recipe that had feta, tomatoes, and olives...
What are you baking these days? Part III [old]
Just made an amazing strawberry-rhubarb crumble that I found on Smitten Kitchen (I think it's a Nigella recipe). Brought it to a potluck and drat-all was gone before I got a bite!
suggestions for Sunday brunch in the northwest 'burbs?
Have you tried Kozlak's in Shoreview? Never been there for brunch, but their dinners are very good.
need a quiet nice place to celebrate an 80th birthday
What about Kozlaks ? (I hope I spelled that right...). I think they also have private rooms.
Best outdoor patios in Twin Cities
I like the little patio, flowers, and fountain at Swede Hollow-they always have yummy lunch specials...
Restaurants everyone loves--except you
I would agree with all of those-except I haven't tried Broder's yet. Didn't ike Mayslack's either. I feel like I'm missing something...The Nook doesn't do it for me either.
Restaurants everyone loves--except you
Yeah, I had a really bad experience at Bad Waitress too....
Need a Twin Cities Gelato Roundup
Wasn't a huge fan of the maple bacon-but I did like the butter brickle quite a bit-especially with the mexican chocolate sauce from the stall nearby.
Quiet Restaurant in NE/University?
I like the atmosphere of Loring Pasta Bar, but the food has never been very great-after about five times of trying it.

Totally forgot about Barbary Fig. Love that place!

Should I give Maverick's another try?
I dunno. I've been there twice-ordered roast beef twice and it's always been dry. I'm done I think.
Mission: Fish Taco
Oh yeah, Sea Salt. Although I love their calamari tacos better than anything else...if you don't like fish you dont' like fish...go for the octopus!
Restaurants everyone loves--except you
Smashburger is pretty nasty....I can't believe people pay for it.
Restaurants You Love - And Nobody Talks About
I agree with Birchwood. They have always been our favorite-especially since they hosted our wedding brunch for 15 with three days notice (we didn't have much notice ourself-we decided to get married pretty quickly!!) My favorite from there is the boysenberry cobbler.

local and organic sources?
My husband and I are trying hard to eat local and organic. Anyone use a CSA? What other places have people used for yummy, quality food-both restaurants and co-ops etc.? I would like to know of some actual farms we can drive out to get meat , dairy, and poultry.
Restaurants everyone loves--except you
I didn't like Al Vento either-too salty. I have been to Craftsman three times, and have not had a good experience there at all-although others say it is the best restaurant EVER.
MSP - CELEBRATING FIRST WEDDING ANNIVERSARY DINNER???
I would go with the Strip Club. We're celebrating our first anniversary too!! (This weekend!!) Congratulations to you!!
