Outta-Towner looking to woo DC lady with great meal. Suggestions?

I have always found DC Coast to be good, but not great. The atmosphere is a little lacking and there is a certain generic feel to it as well. You could do a lot better. I would head to any of the other three Tunks restaurants before Coast.

For my money, there really is nothing better for a truly special occasion than Komi.

Not The Usual DC Brunch Spots

Thanks for the input! Decided to give Heritage a try, so I will try to remember to let you all know how it is.

Not The Usual DC Brunch Spots

I am trying to find a good place for brunch this Sunday. Since it is also Easter, many of the usual choices are booked up according to OpenTable. So my question is this, if you had someone visiting DC and couldn't hit up the usual brunch spots, where might you take your guests?

Thanks in advance for all the advice!

On The Fly?

I have not been to verify its existence, but The Post said that On The Fly had a cafe located above or inside of the capitol hill location of Results Gym (I think on G SE between 3rd and 4th). The Post described it as fresh local organic fare.

As I said, I haven't been, but it seems like it might be a good option for a healthy workday lunch.

Great Coffee Shop for drinking, eating, studying

Ebenezer's coffee really isn't that good. The atmosphere is not very good either. It does have free wi-fi, but that is about the best I can say for it.

On The Fly?

Has anyone been to either of the On The Fly cafes? I'm particularly interested in the capitol hill location.

What about the carts in Gallery Place?

What is the pricing like? Good option for workday lunch?

Thanks in advance for the input!

Best Patios in the DC Metro

The foods not great, but its always nice to go sit by the river down at the waterfront in georgetown. Just be aware that it often gets standing room only packed by the outdoor bar for happy hours.

Good In DC For A Casual Date?

Thanks for all the suggestions! I now feel like I have a list of places to try.

BTW, complete side note, but I had just wandered across this site, and it has been great.

What's With "Chinese Food, Subs, Chicken and Seafood" in DC?

These restaurants aren't just in "the ghetto." They are everywhere. Even downtown. They do nothing well, and most things poorly. DC is in dire need of better delivery options and this type of place doesn't help.

Good In DC For A Casual Date?

I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for good places in DC (not NoVa or MD) for a casual date? Would love to find a laid back place that's not too expensive, with a good atmosphere for fostering conversation. And of course, good food is a must! We've done the nice dinner circuit for the first few dates, but that simply gets too expensive.

Also, as this might be a good option, any suggestions on great bar food? Sometimes a beer and a burger just hits the spot.

Thanks for any suggestions!
