Greedy owner (again) drives customer away

I haven't been to Baileys in a long time because of numerous problems encountered in the past (too many to re-list so go see my prior post: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/399590). However, I was forced to go back by my friends who swore the restaurant is now good.
Oh well, here goes:
1. Salad - each dinner comes with a pretty big salad. I guess that's good, but the waitress never told us we were getting salad so we were not able to pick our choice of dressing, if you can call what they put on the lettuce "dressing." It was bathed in vinegar and that's it. It was inedible.
2. While we were "trying" to eat the salad, our meal came out (but I guess that is a good thing, too, because we didn't have to finish the vinegary salad).
3. BBQ sauce was not on the table as a staple condiment. Are you kidding me? THIS IS (supposed to be) A BBQ PLACE. I asked for some BBQ sauce and luckily they did not charge me for it like they did the last time, but what I was given was (1) the smallest little cup of BBQ sauce and (2) liquid that was pure vinegar with red coloring - inedible.
4. The worst part was the soda. No, it wasn't flat or they didn't promptly fill my order, but when I got my bill, I saw that I was charged each time I asked for some more soda. First of all, the sodas we got came in a little plastic cup filled with ice and at least the waitress could have told us before that there were no refills instead of simply continuing to pad the bill. How cheap can the owner be when he tries to take advantage of customers like that.
Although the food was pretty good (except for the “you've got to be kidding me” salad "dressing" and red colored vinegar disguised as BBQ sauce), I will not be going back there for the principle. That's my only way to voice my displeasure with greedy owners who try to soak its customers for every last dollar.

Good Eats in Northeast NJ By NY border?

More on Baily's, continued:

6. The shredded chicken was mushy. I am sure it was cooked enough, but I wasn’t going to take a chance at eating uncooked poultry;
7.Fries - The first few times I went, my meal came with fries, which were great. However, during my last trip, fries weren't brought with my ribs so I asled why. I was told they no longer came with the meal!! Fries go with ribs, for free;
8. Salad was served family style, but unfortunately, it was soaked in vinegar;
9. Pizza - We also ordered pizza, or so we were told that it was pizza. Yeah, it was cooked dough with sauce and cheese, but Ellio’s tastes better.

Good Eats in Northeast NJ By NY border?

I have to seriously disagree with the recommendations of Bailey's Smoke House. I went there few a few times, bending over backwards to give it a chance, but each time it was worse and worse. Complaints:

1. The ribs still had the membrane on them, a BBQ faux pas;
2. BBQ sauce was not on the table as a staple condiment;
3. The first time I went they had the nerve to charge me an extra dollar on the bill for the extra sauce I asked for (it's BBQ place!! Are you kidding me!!??):
4. A minimal amount of napkins were on the table - aren't you supposed to get messy with ribs?;
5. The brisket and sausages had no flavor and were over-cooked;
6.

Pink's - overated

Just went to Pionk's upon recommnedation of just about everyone. Am I missing something? Cool place, but hot dogs were very average and most of the toppings were flavorless.

Good Breakfast in Phoenix

Just came back from Phoenix and tried 3 breakfast places: Matt's Big Breakfast, Roberto's Mexican Food, and Butterfields Pancake House.

I would highly recommend all 3, and all are completely different. Matt's is a quaint and busy storefront that serves the best potatoes you'll ever taste, with grilled onions and rosemary. Very friendly staff and although you will have to wait awhile for you table - big deal, you are in Phoenix, and it is sunny! Roberto's, featured in "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" is in a Shell station in northern Phoenix near Glendale. Everything was made to order and was delicious. The portions were humongous. Butterfields was a pleasant surprise, not knowing what to expect. Big and clean, with large portions, and very good quality, despite being a franchise (other branches are in Illinois).

Which you select would depend on where you are in the valley. Matt's is downtown, so close to the airport. I would head there before catching a flight. Butterfield's is in central Scottsdale, while, as stated above, Roberto’s is more northeast. However, you can't go wrong with any of the 3.
