Kim Kee's satay sauce is different. It is a lot darker. Kinda like X.o sauce and taiwanesse bbq sauce..My aunt's satay sauce is similar to Kim kee's satay sauce.It is very rich so I suggest to get it with egg noodle or you can get it half egg amd half rice noodle. I love ordering half and half. I feel so chinese.

I am chui chow. When my grandpa was around we use to go to 888.One of my favorite is a shrimp cake with chestnuts and wrap in beancurd. The shrimp cake is deep fried and serve with a sweet sauce.
Another chui chow dish I like is from Kim kee. It is the spicy beef satay noodle. Squeeze a litle lime and delicous.Chui chow is suppose to be known for their satay. It is totally different from thai satay.

I'm sorry you don't like the banh xeo at Banh Cuon Tay ho.I think i was the one that suggest it. Opps my bad.i'm just so impress with the crispy skin.Too much oil is always the problem. If you talk to vietnamese people they will tell you the best banh xeo is homemade. i just invite myself over everytime my friends mom makes banh xeo. Let me know when you find the perfect banh xeo. I can eat about three at one sitting.

Question from mikeinla : When you're given the hollow rice noodle portions, do people generally fill that with the cucumber slices, shrimp toast, bean sprouts, etc., and then dip and eat?
I just pour the fish top over the noodle and eat it like the vermicill dishes.You don't wrap banh cuon. It's more like a salad. Just be a lil nosy and look at the other patrons

The best banh xeo is at ban coun tay ho in san gabriel. It is crispy and not to oily. I find that most restaurant banh xeo is oily.Banh Xeo is one of my favorite dish. Do not go to ban xeo quan in rosemead. It is one of my worst vietnamese meal. Don't forget to get the rice noodle from ban cuon tay ho.

Perfectly Sweets in Alhambra has a good version. My girlfriends and I always get the tres leche from Perfectly Sweets. Call ahead because they might be out.

I was there last weekend. The hot pot is not as spicy and everything was salty. The dan dan noodle was too salty for me. i thought it was just an off day. I hope it won't go downhill. I love this place.

Hungry Cat - My Non-perience
I'm still flaming about mt experince at Hungry Cat. I went for the Blue Crab night with a 7:00 reservation.I got there at 6:45 and the hostess said" I'll seat you in a little bit ". I was standing right in front of her at 7:00 and she was still not seating us. She was letting all these hollywood people in . One group after another. I was fed up by 7:15 and confronted her. She threw attutude at me and said, " Your table is ready now." I'm so mad that I diddn't make a scene.
Who knew I was going to a hollywood club.I'm just there to eat. The crab was horribly salty.

Can you guys reccomend a place for rehearsal dinner? Maggiano has a 1200 minimum and it comes out more than 40 a peron.Maggiano is not worth 40 a person I'm looking for a place with a private room for 30 people. I'm willing to spend 30 a person for a appetizer and entree. I'm open to the type of food. Thanks chows

I'm getting married !!! I am looking for a restaraunt that seats 300. I have a big family. I want to spend around 75 to 100 per person inluding drinks. No chinese banquets. I also want vegetarian dish as an option. I looked at traxx but did not like it. Thanks in advance
