Lobster Rolls & Hot Lobster Sandwiches
Interesting, very intersting. I shall be the guinea pig.
Lobster Rolls & Hot Lobster Sandwiches
Ah, thanks for yet another hot spot in Yarmouth. It's making me consider heading all the way west.
Lobster Rolls & Hot Lobster Sandwiches
I'm heading to PEI and then down to Halifax, Lunenburg, New Germany, and the immediate surrounding areas... and am in critical search of either a divine lobster roll or a hot lobster sandwich.
I was in Yarmouth a few years ago and sadly will not be making my way that far south (west?) this year. While there, however, I fell in love with this dive called "The Quick & Tasty" that had the best freaking lobster roll and a house dish that I can only think to describe as a hot lobster sandwich. It consisted of lobster slightly shredded, mixed with butter and cream, and then ladled over a 2 stacked slices of wonderbread. It was amazingly delicious (even though visually it looked disgusting).
I am hopeful that someone on here knows of a similar humble lobster restaurant where I can indulge without going all the way to Yarmouth again. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
Where can I find Japanese Chef's Knife in GTA?
There is a store on the corner of East Beaver Creek and East Pearce in Richmond Hill. It is exclusively Japanese cookware. Not sure of the name, but I pass by it everyday and can post it later.
best polish restaurant in GTA
I would have to agree! Polonez has always been great when I've gone.
Top Edmonton Restaurants?
Sorry. I guess my original post was pretty unclear.
I'm looking for a dinner location for 6 to 8 people.
We’re staying downtown but if there’s a thrilling dining experience on the outskirts of town, I’d be willing to arrange transportation for that.
Any sort of food will do. French bistro, Italian, Asian influenced, Indian. I think these folks will be open to anything.
The meeting will not take place at the restaurant so a private room or quiet location is not necessary.
Price will not be a factor. I’d rather go high-end with a good wine list than try to be too thrifty.
Top Edmonton Restaurants?
I have a business meeting taking place in Edmonton in the Fall. What are my options like? I'm not interested in chains.
Is the Harvest Room worth checking out? Other suggestions?
Much appreciated!

The kiddies might enjoy the flash of a teppanyaki style dinner; where they cook the food in front of you and do knife tricks, juggle pepper shakers, etc.
There's a Benihana Japanese Steakhouse in the Royal York Hotel.

(Toronto) looking for a cozy coffee shop
I second 7 West. I think it's exactly the vibe that they're looking for.
Parkdale! - (suggestions for this weekend??)
Delux and Foxley are good picks. Delux is pretty busy these days, so if you choose to go there, I'd recommend making a reservation now.
As for Polish food on Roncesvalles, I really feel that the food at Cafe Polonez has Chopin beat. Their goulash w/ potato pancake thing is excellent. Great homemade soups... and I really like the Polish beers on offer.
Fat Cat (also on Roncesvalles) has nice oysters. I like their tapas style menu. Great outdoor seating too, but I guess that doesn't help you this weekend. Ha ha.
Swan's nice too. I haven't been there for dinner in a while (they do a great brunch) but I'm sure it's still pretty good. They partner with Oyster Boy next-door so they almost always have fresh oysters available.

Buddha Dog? Thoughts? Death Watch?
Googs' comment is on the money. Buddha Dog knows their market and appeals to it accordingly. It’s a family-friendly establishment with great atmosphere, and it’s a nice contribution to the Roncesvalles facelift.
I’m sure the liquor license is to allow their many adult patrons an option other than lemonade and water to accompany their dogs. I do not see it as an act of desperation whatsoever, especially since I walk past this restaurant going to and from work and it’s usually very busy – even amidst the gruesome weather we’ve been having. This speaks volumes for any Toronto establishment.
Their menu actually does consist of other items above and beyond hotdogs. In fact, you can get a grilled cheese there. They also serve soups and salads. I would oppose them expanding their menu much beyond this. So many places fail because they veer from what they’re good at. Buddha Dog does a mean dog. Why criticize that?
Other than Chinese, Where Can One Get a Great Soup in the GTA?
Café Polonez (on Roncesvalles Ave) does a mean daily homemade soup. They also have about 3 or 4 soup staples that remain on their menu. Although filling, most patrons still treat their soups as appetizers… but they can easily be made into a meal, as far as I'm concerned.
best chocolate mousse?
This is tricky. I feel like mousses have gone out of vogue lately. The Silver Spoon did a fantastic “chocolate-4-ways” dessert which included a small mousse as one of the "ways". It was excellent.
Their menu changes very frequently though, so they might not be serving it anymore. Best to phone ahead and check.
Seeking the perfect "yeast doughnut" of my youth
Yeah, Granowska's is legendary. Good call, Frito.
