how does it measure up the original joss? as tasty? more expensive? how is the food portions? sounds a bit meager in your description. |

i ate there last night (not dine in LA) and there is noooo way anyone can be full after 3 tapas. i suggest going to fogo de chao down the street afterwards. it is definitely an experience of a restaurant. |

they serve it at the restaurant on hollywood and vine...there is a revolving piano there too. as the above writer mentioned, it tastes like black licorice. so its really like jaeger except you think you will hallucinate and you wont. have a vodka tonic instead. |

fun mexican on the westside for a group don antonios is fun..except the stupid hill filmed there and now all the hollywood rejects go there and the line is out the door. casa sanchez is fun...but eat before you get there. food is weak big time. |

fun mexican on the westside for a group lares on pico is good food and fun. sit upstairs though...downstairs is too hot and upstairs has live music. there is a place on centinella near culver that is a lot of fun. great 10 piece mariachi band, free guac, and chips. only problem is the food is bad and expensive. drinks are great and service is friendly though. |

Friend in need - food help in Hermosa wow..that was awesome. let me pass that onto him and see if that helps. thanks a lot! |

Friend in need - food help in Hermosa A professional friend of mine now works in Hermosa Beach, and is not the sharkey's lunch kind of guy. He is now driving 30 mins away on his lunch break to find good meals. Can anyone recommend nearby restaurants that would fit the bill. |

Best Pizza in Los Angeles (& surrounding)????!! for top flight pizza..mozza is incredible. for very good neighborhood pizza...try villa pizza on sepulveda and washington. very scrumptious and filling. |

What happened to Jerry's Deli?????? jerry's menu is too large and it cant concentrate on its bread and butter items...deli foods. try juniors on pico and westwood too for goo deli food. |

Where to find cheap groceries in West LA? i used to live near robertson and pico and never went to those stores once. the dirtiest stores and the rudest most inhumane people shop there. there is a produce store (stans?) further down pico across from Pats restaurant that i heard has good produce prices. |

WOLFGANG'S STEAKHOUSE and other beefy thoughts CUT has a steak sampler plate that is expensive yet delish. two american corn fed types..one 21 day aged..the other 41 or so. the next is the american waygu (my personal favorite). the last is the pure kobe beef (a bit too marbled and fatty for my taste). |
just saw the old thread too. i think eating at fogo often, i will be dissapointed by the meats (to well done and salty). maybe i will stay away. thanks! |

Has anyone on Chowhoud eaten here? i know it doesnt have all the bells and whistles of Fogo do Chao, but with a much more reasonable price and location..it sounds like its worth a try. I really dont care about corkage fees and lack of alcohol either. I am there for the food. |

Great sports bars near West LA hoighty toight like the south. i like the south's concepts..but it seems to clean and spread apart inside. and the idea to serve southern food will never ever ever work there for long. |
Great sports bars near West LA I know if one drives out to Corona or outlying LA areas, they have great sports bars like nationals or champions. Other than sports harbor near the marina..and the hoighty toighty ones on wilshire in SM, any others anyone can recommend? Has to serve food too! |

Thanksgiving the gaucho way:Fogo de Chao review w/pics i am going to fogo for new years dinner. all this talk got me hungry. i was thinking of mortons..but here you get all these choices and sides included for less. cant wait! |

Thanksgiving the gaucho way:Fogo de Chao review w/pics great review. i didnt know about the bean and rice. i will have to try it next time. lunch is about $38 for salad bar and meat. i think you can just get the salad bar for less. i think dinner is around $52. i think all piece of meat taste distinctive. the quality of meat is great too. go to a great steakhouse and you are paying 42 for one cut. here you get to have more and different cuts as well. i have never been dissapointed with fogo. |

Pizzeria Mozza TONIGHT for my FIRST TIME! (so let's play a game!) the fried squash blossoms are great. the burrata is delicious. but...you have to get the fennel sausage pizza. unbelievably tasty. |

Day 78: Brazilian food at Brasa Brasil Grill in Culver City aha. thats right. brasa grill is next to the thai restaurant right off of venice. and the pampas grill is in the culver city shopping center. i have seen brassa but never tried it and didnt know it was an all you can eat. i must try it! fogo is incredible but double or triple the prices. |
Day 78: Brazilian food at Brasa Brasil Grill in Culver City i live right by and go to fogo de chao which is 34 at lunch 50 at dinner. i dont think the culver city place is 15 all day. isnt that just certain hours? if not..count me in! how is the meat? comparable to places more expensive? |

i have been to cut several times. once i ordered the american waygu ribeye and it was heaven. next time i got the sampler plate. the two aged american pieces were great ..if you never had american waygu there before. the true kobe piece was way to fatty and gelatinous for me (i guess an acquired taste..but at the prices these days...dont see that happening). stick to the american waygu and you wont even brush your teeth that night so you can savior the taste! |
