Thanksgiving Dinner?

We have a smaller family crew than usual this year, so we're dining out, and also doing the House of Prime Rib. had the turkey fix at an early thanksgiving at a friend's place last weekend, so i doubt i will be steered away from the prime rib on T-day. can't wait. love the HOPR...

Solo female diner needs suggestions and encouragement

just got back from NOLA for a short trip. i was also solo (though male) and sat at the bar at Cochon on Friday night. sat next to a nice lady also traveling solo. i think it's common to see here. if you're traveling on business, it's hard to order room service in a place like New Orleans. I don't get to New Orleans that often, so I view every meal as an opportunity. anyway, the bartender was very friendly, and took great care of us. enjoyed lots of delicious small plates, instead of an entree. and finished with a great cornmeal pineapple upside down cake. i would definitely recommend Cochon.

Coop's

just back from NOLA and arriving at MSY at 9p, decided Coops would be a good late dinner option. As a solo diner, i sat at the bar, and while the bartender didn't gush over me, he was friendly enough, and kept the drinks coming. i had blackened redfish with rice and beans and salad, and it was super tasty. a great first meal in NOLA.

Central Grocery is Rude

Just returned from a short NOLA trip. Popped into Napoleon House to try their muffaletta. had a 1/4 sandwich with a side spinach salad. (wanted to pace myself for other meals and not overdo it. : ) ) both sand and salad were delicious. the sandwich heated up didn't bother me, but wasn't necessary either, IMO. i hit central grocery last year, and remember that they weren't the friendliest of folks. but i also remember happily devouring their sandwich. i wanted a sit down experience this time, so Nap House was perfect. I'd been a few years ago for a Pimm's Cup.
