Mon Delice in New Smyrna Beach

Yes it is still there and as good as ever!

Havana Blue in St Thomas

I was wondering if anyone has recently eaten here and do they have anything appropriate for children to eat. I know they are attached the the Marriot/Morningstar Resort so I figured they would be able to rustle up something for kids to eat, or should I go somewhere else.

Good seafood place in Orlando to impress a couple New Englanders?

I believe what you are looking for is something like the Celebration Town Tavern which is a classic New England/Boston seafood house with many of their traditional fried dishes such as Scrod, Oysters, Clams with Belly's, etc.

Another, albeit more expensive option, would be Oceanaire at Pointe Orlando. Price Point comparable to Todd Englishes Blue Zoo

Brunch between Orlando Attractions and Tampa?

You might try Chalet Suzanne down near Lake Wales! Not sure if they are open though!

Need for a party - sliders in Orlando

Cheesecake Factory has them, but not sure about the price!!

Help Me Decide: Primo or Norman's (Orlando)

Are you sure the Mongolian marinated dish you speak of was a Pork Chop. I've eaten there many times and the only Mongolian offered main course was the Veal Chop, which is excellent if I might add. I personally find the restaurants quite different and thus unable to recommend one over the other. Both have there strong and weak points. Personally I've never had "snoooty" service at Normans. I have had slow, somewhat inept, service but was always treated with courtesy and respect. Needless to say you won't go wrong with either!!

Steakhouses outside Disney World

I haven't been in awhile but I've heard Vito's quality and service has dropped dramatically from more than one source. To bad I use to kind of like it for what it was.

Steakhouses outside Disney World

You have multiple options including Shula's Steakhouse in The Dolphin Hotel, Capital Grille over at Pointe Orlando, The Palm at the Hard Rock Hotel, Morton's and Ruth's Chris on Sand Lake Road's "Restaurant Row". If I had to rate them in order it would be Shula's, Del Frisco's, Cap Grille, Morton's, Palm. The only issue with Del Frisco's is they seemed to always put to much pepper on their steak for my liking. Also I can't vouch for them since they lost their affiliation with their namesake chain out of Texas.

New Smyrna Beach Restaurants

JB's overpriced?????

Any recent Norman's in Orlando experiences?

I agree. The Mongolian Veal Chop is outstanding. Remember if none of the salads interest you they do a wonderful house salad not on the menu! As noted below, Primo is not to be missed if you can make it.

In-N-Out coming to Orlando?

BK by a mile!!! But while neither are conducive to good health, if I am going to sacrifice myself, I would much rather do it the In-N-Out way.

In-N-Out coming to Orlando?

Someone over on the Urban Planet Orlando message board is reporting that they were told by a representative of the In-N-Out chain that they, In-N-Out, would have a branch of their famous burger joint in Orlando starting next year. Can anyone confirm this or is it a wild rumor. Looking at their website it seems they have nothing located east Of AZ/NV so to jump all the way down to the sunshine state seems "quite a hop". Personally I would love to have them here.

Emerils Tchoup chop vs Roys??

Figure 5-10 minute walk to City Walk, depending on your pace, from The Royal Pacific where Tchoup Chop is. As for the food, I have eaten at both and had good and bad meals at both. I prefer the room at Tchoup Chop to Roys and I would call the food a toss up personally. Resort wear is perfect for Emerils place as it is for Roys. I have found the hosts and servers a little nicer at Tchoup Chop vs Roys on my visits.

Any feedback on Gabbiano's, Miami, Florida

You might look at this recent discussion. It seems to have nothing but rave reviews!

Gourmet grocery - Orlando ??

Here is my vote for Dean & Deluca.

Orlando recommendations for Christmas party?

I would personally look at Normans or Primo over the other 2. Both have beautiful rooms and food is very good at both.

Stone Crabs in Orlando?

Shula's Steakhouse at The Dolphin Hotel has them

where should we eat in key west?

For true upscale take a drive up to Little Palm Island for a romantic island getaway with outstanding food (at least it was a few years ago when I was there). It is I believe at mile marker 22, north of Key West. 7 fish is excellent as well. Louis backyard is nice for Lunch but can be inconsistent for Dinner.

Help me choose from these Orlando Restaurants

I have to agree with 'Mish' on this one. I have hit Manuel's 3 times over past year and each time it came up significantly short. There menu hasn't changed in as long as I can remember including some dishes I ate in the late 80's. I believe if the would freshen up their menu, quit serving the bread on that slab of marble like they've been doing forever and add some more choices than the same stale, beef, chicken, lamb choices that everyone else offers they would be "that special destination" restaurant. I mean you can't beat the view, but you gotta at least freshen up the menu. I use to be a loyal client but no more, my last 3 visits were not of my choosing and I won't personally choose it when I have a choice given so many other better options in this city.

Pizzeria Del-Dio - Orlando

Where is this place exactly located?

Orlando Steak Recap- Vitos Chophouse & Ruth's Chris

Herbert what have they done over at the Vineyard grill to change it. I went there about a year ago but didn't care for the atmosphere although the steak wasn't to bad. Has the menu changed?

High End Restauarnts coming to Florida in '08

There is talk that Valentino's (contemporary Italian) out of Santa Monica/Vegas is looking at the space where Lee's Lakeside downtown use to occupy.

Brick and Fire, Orlando

Sorry to hear about that Katy. You have always been IMO a spot on poster so I probably won't waste my time based on your experience instead opting for Ceviche which I have had good luck with.

Dying for a good steak in PGA WPB area

C'mon steakman be nice!! LOL

What's the skinny on Bern's in Tampa?

No I did the Kobe Ribeye. It truly had the "Buttery Taste" that Kobe is known for but personally I like a nice beef flavor with my steak and you just don't get that with Kobe Beef with all the marbling.

As for Spago..........ate at the Maui location 3 times and had excellent meals and service each time. I also have been impressed with his restaurant Postrio in San Fran. Never have been to Chinois though. Personally Cut was really a see and be seen restaurant.......I never thought the food lived up to the hype, even the sides. If you like Kobe beef, their selection is about the best I have found in the US, so it may be worth your while to try it.

What's the skinny on Bern's in Tampa?

Personally I don't understand all the fuss over Luger's. I am sure many people like their meat roasted, but personally I like a nice crust on my steak. And whats the deal with them slicing my meat for me. Do they not think I can't cut it myself! I just don't get it. If it wasn't in NYC it probably wouldn't get the accolades it does. Reminds me of RAO's. Average Italian with a ridiculous reputation. By the way I am not a Bern's fan but I would say it is one of the better steakhouse in the country when they are on their game, and certainly much better than Puck's new place 'CUT' out in Beverly Hills, boy did that place suck...........my main problem with Berns is their lack of consistency with their steaks.

Anything New Coming into Orlando/Central Florida

It has been a couple of months so I thought I would revive this topic to see if anything new is planned for Orlando or the Central Florida market.

Where to get the best Cuban Sandwich?

You should post in your title Where in the state you are looking or does the question encompass the whole state!!

Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa....an Update

I had similar feelings about a year ago Steakman, but I visited in April and again on the Friday before Thanksgiving and had wonderful meals both times. In fact I felt it had dramatically improved since last year where I had 2 meals in a row that were quite disappointing. We had 6 in our party everything was cooked to proper temp, apps of shrimp and oysters were excellent and ice cold. Salad was fresh and dressings still good as ever. I still hate the carrot "mush" but that has always been a given. My Okinawa potato was as good as always, and as i said before the strip (16oz) was perfectly cooked.

I can't respond on the wine or liquor since I do not drink nor does my companion but our friends had no issues with their selections.

Desert room menu has been updated since last year and I believe markedly improved in available choices compared to before. I do believ the added charge is bogus.

Overall I have been extremely happy with my last 2 visits whereas I had almost given up on her last year.

You might give the old lady one last shot to win you back, Iknow I am glad I did!
