Good Group Restaurant in Sonoma
Hi all, I am planning a bachelorette up in Sonoma. We are looking for somehwhere to eat dinner on a Saturdat night. It needs to be in walking distance to the square, and be a place that if we get a little loud we wont upset too many customers. We are all love and appreciate food, but this is a dinner that will be more about the company and less about the food. Hopefully the food can still be good though...Thanks!
Where to find Organic Meats for Homemade Sausage ?
Thanks everyone for the helpful advice, and altough it maybe its not what I wanted to hear, I understand that I just need to pay a little more to get what I want. I will check out the leads I got here and post back on what I find. I think I will start with Scott so maybe he can hook me up with some casings and fat as well. Thanks!
Slow Cooker Cook Book
I am an avid user of my slow cooker. I received the william sonoma "slow cooking" with my all clad slow cooker. I made about 5 recipes from there and was very frustrated. I then received not your mothers slow cooker. It is my bible. It has a lot of hokey recipes, but who cares, they have a ton of great recipes, and the correct ratios of liquid to solids. Plus it is like $15 on amazon. And as stated below, always braise your meats before you put them in the cooker.
dinner in Calistoga
I recently ate at Wappo in Calistoga. It is is the middle of town so walkable from the hotels in town. The menu was eclectic and very good. I was there with 18 people so I got to sample a lot of the food and a lot of the appetizers. The only item I did not love was the duck confit, which was overdone. All the others items I tried made up for this. Lovely setting and great service. I would recommend.
Where to find Organic Meats for Homemade Sausage ?
I recently learned how to make sausage. I practiced using meat purchased at my local Mexican market. I have my technique down, but want to start using nicer meats. If my niece is going to be eating this I would like to use organic cruelty free meat. With the quantity of meat I am purchasing, going to whole foods is simply not an option due to price.
I live in Oakland CA. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Maybe somwhere I can buy large cuts of meat that are not pumped full of hormones but also will not cost me a pay check....
