Private room for cocktail party for 60 -- not too expensive

I'm looking for a restaurant that has a private room that will hold about 60 people for a cocktail party -- casual -- not too expensive -- prefer downtown if possible.

Quiet place downtown

Need a quiet place to catch up with an old friend -- prefer Union Square area -- next would be East Village -- next, West Village -- casual

Thanks,
Sabrina

Focolare in Little Italy

Just went to Focolare in Little Italy -- it opened in the summer and I just heard about it -- dinner was deelish -- for appetizers we had (1) diver scallops over truffled mashed potatoes and cubes of beets and (2) very light rice balls

Entrees -- (1)rabbit cannelloni and (2) a special of beet and moscarpone ravioli -- yum!

Nice room -- fireplace -- very friendly -- will definitely go back

Focolare, 115 Mulberry St near Hester, 212-966-1553

UWS dinner for 90th birthday

Hi,

I'm looking for someplace to have a quiet dinner (possibly a private room) in a restaurant on the UWS in November. Birthday girl will be 90. Guests include 15-20 people. Budget is $60 per person excluding wine & liquor (everone will pay for their own).

Thanks.

Bologna restaurant..10 minutes out of the city

We had a fab dinner seven years ago in a restaurant about 10 minute drive from the center of Bologna. I can't remember the name.

We walked upstairs, through a huge room with a bar, that was not being used ... into a dining room with pictures of Scotland on the walls, and a selection of many single malt Scotch. The food was perfectly prepared...not ostentatious.

Does anyone know this restaurant? What's the name.

My friend Robbie is in flight at the moment and I want to get him this info -- or any other great place to eat in Bologna.

Thanks so much --

Sabrina

take out Union Square-Gramercy

thanks, -- i've been trying to remember the name of tina

take out Union Square-Gramercy

Hi,

I'm looking for good take-out -- especially Chinese -- the best (not great) was Tang Tang, which is about to become a Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins

DO NOT call Tang Tang's number if you have a menu, they sold the number to a terrible take-out place

Thanks

Casa Mono

Love, love, llove it! Consistently tasty -- love the small dishes -- which aren't so small once you start eating -- great fryer: sweetbreads and pumpkin croquettas a must -- we get them every time -- my husband loves the duck egg (a little too breadfasty for me) -- octopus with it's greens are a perfect lunch, I could go on and on.

wines are terrific -- lots available by the glass

I'm usually too full for dessert, but crema catalana is very good
