I'm not sure it is the best but the F&Cs at Big Fish are quite good. |

Thanks very much BG! Cheers, |

I appreciate this question maybe paradoxical but my sisters and I are taking my father(born and raised Dubliner whose idea of a great meal is grilled fillet of plaice, roast potatoes and peas) on a return trip to Dublin and I was wondering if someone can recommend a couple of great old school restaurants. |

Ashford Castle-George V Restaurant Thanks, archaic indeed. I guess I'll have to decide when I get there. |

Ashford Castle-George V Restaurant Has anyone eaten recently in Ashford Castle's George V dining room? |

Whist in the Lake Louise area give "Truffle Pigs" a try. It is a few miles down the road in small town called Field, BC. |

Fergus & Bix - Marda Loop - YYC Thanks for the report, obviously an improvement over the previous establishment. |
I guess I'm getting confused. What's the name of its sister in Marda Loop? |

Palace of Eats down in the Beltline is pretty good as well. |
Thank you very much! |

Does anyone know where I can buy a good carving fork in Calgary? Thanks, |
Very good restaurant in Calgary? I would concur with your recomendations. |

I gather a "Spiros" family feud created a split thereby producing Sophies in addition to Spiros and so I was wondering how the two compare? |
Thanks very much! |

Does anyone have any recomendations for a place in Calgary to buy a great organic, free range roasting chicken? Thanks, |
Thank you very much for your suggestions! |

While in NYC next week I'm going to be meeting friends for dinner and I was wondering if anyone could recomend either a great "red sauce" Italian restaurant or a French Bistro with the following criteria. -most entrees below $20; Thanks! |

Kid friendly wing nite in Calgary?? It may not be terribly kid friendly but the Redwater Grill in Bow Valley Square has recently put wings on the menu and they are great. Perhaps the other Redwaters have added them as well. |

Looking for suggestions here... My go to cracker is Jacob's Cream Crackers. |
Thanks, it sounds like they haven't missed a beat despite Chabot's departure. |

Hsk, as a matter of interest how was Il Sogno? i haven't been there for some time. |

The elusive search for a great sandwich and soup restaurant (Calgary) It doesn't fit exactly what your looking for (no tables and not sure if they are open on the weekend) but I quite enjoy the soups and sandwiches at Rise in Bow Valley Square. My only complaint is that sometimes their soups are not as hot as they should be. BTW, the lack of seating can be rectified by going up to the +15 level. |

They might be a little more expensive than the other restos mentioned but a block East of the Ship is Cilantro and across the street from Melrose (roughly 17th Ave and 7th Street) is Brava Bistro. |

Canadian Hound visiting Boston Thanks! Sorry for not being more specific as I know comparisons can be odious. I guess I am looking for some help with the best Boston has to offer in terms of tasting menus with an emphasis on either French or seafood. |

Canadian Hound visiting Boston Hi all, Thanks, |
2 nights in Calgary - recommendations please I would concur. |
Sorry, it just occurred to me that 25 people could be considered a big event. I had in my mind a big event of 100's of people. |
Hmm, that would be too bad if they are only doing big events. Perhaps it is a recent policy as they did a cocktails/dinner buffet party this past May at my place for about 25 people. |

Thanksgiving Dinner in Calgary? Along the same line I believe Fresh Kitchen does the same thing. Although I have not tried their Turkey Dinner specifically their food is usually very good. |
They maybe more than you are looking for but Devour Catering did a very good job for me this summer. |
