Sorry, I want to stay around DC. I live in Fairfax but I'm willing to go into DC and the surrounding suburbs.

Mother's Day Recommendations

I'd like to take my mom out for brunch or afternoon tea for mother's day. I know I'm late at getting my act together. Does anyone have recommendations of places with a good atmosphere and great food?

One Dinner in Charlottesville

Hi Everyone. I'm going to be in Charlottesville with my SO between Christmas and New Years and I am having a hard time choosing one restaurant for dinner. After reading through a few websites, I'm thinking of Tavola, Zocalo, or Brookville but I'm open to other suggestions too. The only other time I was in Charlottesville I ate at Savour, which was very good. Please let me know what you recommend. We both really enjoy food and dining out and want somewhere with really good food. Thank you!

Las Vegas- $75 pp dinner with good food?

Wow, thanks. The article also mentioned that Corsa Cucina might be closing too to revamp. I know the chefs changed but is it closed now or is it still operating only under Stratta's direction?

Good Restaurant for Book Club?

The book we are reading this month is The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox. We used to do places based on the theme of the book but found it a bit hard at times. We like to go to nicer places because this ends up being the night out for most of the people who are mothers or married. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Las Vegas- $75 pp dinner with good food?

Thanks! And you think that this is a better choice for what I'm looking for than Tableau? I will report back with our experience.

Las Vegas- $75 pp dinner with good food?

Thanks. What is the ambiance like there? Will we still feel like we are out for a nice dinner? I read a review somewhere that made me question the ambiance because it mentioned that the restaurant had a food bar and a few tables. I don't remember what the restaurant looked like when I was at the Venetian. Thanks for your help!

Las Vegas- $75 pp dinner with good food?

I am having a difficult time finding a restaurant that serves really good food with a bill of around $75 per person. I am going to be in Vegas on Saturday and my Mother and Brother will both be there for the first time. They have set the price limit for dinner. I enjoy really good food and the last time I was in Vegas I ate at Bartolotta which was fantastic. Can you please help? I've been trying to read everything I can but I can't seem to come up with much and I need to make a reservation by tomorrow. One place I was considering is Tableau. Thanks for your help!

Good Restaurant for Book Club?

I should add that we meet on Wednesdays so that might help.

Good Restaurant for Book Club?

We have a monthly book club that meets out at moderately priced restaurants. We stay within the DC or Northern Virginia area (usually not farther than Arlington). I would like a few suggestions for places with good food that are moderately priced that can accomodate a group of 8 or so. Metro accessibility is a plus. Thanks for your help! It gets tough thinking of different places every month.

Locally Grown Food in DC- Restaurant Recs

I have been reading a lot about Slow Food and the benefits of buying and eating locally grown food (health, environmental, and economical). I would like to support restaurants in the area that either focus on locally grown food or try to incorporate locally grown food into their menus. Any recommendations for restaurants that serve great tasting locally grown food? I dine out a lot so I can use a long list. Thanks!

Nage DC Brunch

Well here is my report. We went yesterday and I have to say the food was pretty good. The ambiance was very lively which was fun since we were there for a birthday brunch. I wouldn't recommend it if you were looking for a relaxed place but I would if you wanted somewhere fun to go. I got the "Kill it Skillet" and although very fattening (mac and cheese, fries, and an egg) it was good. One of my friend's got the French Toast with chocolate and said it was good. They also have all you can drink mimosas in a variety of flavors for $12 a person. The flavors tasted pretty similar but it was still fun to try them all. We had a good time and I would recommend it if you were looking for a fun way to spend your Sunday morning.

Metro 29 or Bob and Edith's?

My favorite is Metro 29. Their french toast is amazing. I went to Bob and Edith's only once and didn't think it was that great. It is small like everyone else is saying and it feels cramped instead of charming. My vote is for Metro 29.

Nage DC Brunch

I'm going to Nage for Brunch on Sunday. Does anyone have any experience here for brunch? The menu looks good and I'm hoping the food is good. I've never been to this restaurant before. Thanks!

Healthy Eating in Reston

That's a tough one. I work in the Reston Town Center and none of those restaurants are anywhere near healthy. Just looking at the calories in panera bread or cosi sandwiches makes me want to cringe. It's more than your daily limit! Good luck. I will let you know if I come across anything. The closest thing I can think of off the top of my head is Chicken Out. The chicken is healthy and they have a few side dishes that are healthy too. Plus they now have make your own salads. They do catering and often run catering specials. You may also want to look at Whole Foods. I assume they do catering like other grocery stores.

I'm looking for a decent size list for the best brunch places in DC. I go out to brunch a lot and I am always looking for new places to try. Location does not matter. Thanks!

Brunch in Falls Church/Tysons Corner/Vienna?

Arties is good. It is one of the Great American Restaurants. It's on old lee highway and RT. 50 so that's fairfax but not far away from your target area.

Rasika vs. Brasserie Beck for Birthday Dinner

Not yet but there are plenty open. There are actually more open for them then there are for Rasika. That's why I'm trying to make the decision so I can book.

Quick (and preferably healthy) lunch options around Baltimore Convention Center

I will be in Baltimore starting tonight and need quick lunch ideas for the next two days that are near the convention center. I will only have an hour for lunch which includes walking time, ordering time, etc. and I cannot be late coming back. Any ideas?

Rasika vs. Brasserie Beck for Birthday Dinner

Thank you. She is a picky eater but she does like Indian food. I think I am leaning towards Rasika.

Rasika vs. Brasserie Beck for Birthday Dinner

I am taking a friend of mine out for her birthday dinner this coming weekend. I am trying to decide between Rasika and Brasserie Beck unless someone else has a great suggestion. She isn't into really fancy things and is very particular about what she will eat in the sense that she will not eat anything that is not made with chicken, turkey, or vegetarian. Everytime I try to take her somewhere I'm surprised at how hard it is to find chicken and vegetarian dishes at nice restaurants. She also really likes beer which is why I was considering Brasseire Beck even though they only have one or two chicken dishes. I would love to hear everyone's suggestions. Thank you!
