Best meal I ever ate:

As of March 2010, dinner with SO and my M&D at Canteen in San Francisco. As of July 09, Fuel's nose-to-tail with pork belly. As of April 08 and October 09, 3 meals served alla famiglia at La Buca. Best non-resto meal: my dad's fresh whole bbq'd spring salmon

My current drink of choice:

summer drink: Pimm's with lemonade and a slice or three of cucumber over ice; yearround: tall Plymouth gin and cranberry juice with a squeeze of lime

I really wish I could:

spend the other 8 hours of the day thinking about food but ya gotta sleep sometime!

My "Go-to" dinner party dish:

in the spring: asparagus lasagne (white sauce); in the winter: sweet trahanas with spinach casserole

My favorite comfort food:

short ribs

My top 5 favorite restaurants:

Kimura, La Buca, Bo Laksa King, Song Huong, Les Amis (okay, so it's not a resto, sue me!)... And for non-Vancouver, I'd say Canteen in San Francisco.

I tend to photocopy recipes I like so my cookbooks stay untattered. Favourite source for tasty, unfussy recipes: Homemakers' Magazine.
