indian in queens, post southern spice and spicy mina's? I agree. Indians are suburbanites now. |

Yes, I would skip Woodbury Commons. The stuff isn't as heavily discounted, and isn't as good a stuff as would make this worth it to take the trek... Just walk down Broadway around 20th street, you'll find lots of great places to shop - and there's usually a discount room or aisle or rack. just briefly (bc im at work now)... |

I talk to Aussies quite a bit about this stuff. First off, you guys are awesome - adventurous, open, and you have long vacations. So, for recommending, I'll usually tell people things that they don't have from where they come from. Mexican, street food (washington heights or roosevelt ave, also bushwick and others), Peruvian, williamsburg, flushing, NY pizza, oysters (grand central oyster place is great) |

go for the corned beef at Ben's Best, if you go - as opposed to pastrami. |

indian in queens, post southern spice and spicy mina's? you should probably move on to nepalese. or suburbia. |

Looking for the Soul of New Orleans We were lucky enough that our host lent us their bikes. I think you can get decent bikes at Gerkins or Confederacy of Cruisers not sure if I posted this before, but here are my pictures and a couple of words from the last trip http://iwantmorefood.com/2013/01/28/n... |

"Cool" Brooklyn place w/ a good burger too late now but just for general knowlege. I think Five Leaves in Greenpoint fits this bill. It does get Crowded at peak times though and not sure if they take recommendations. Very cool place, not annoyingly so, and good burger. |

Only in Brooklyn for 1 day....where should we eat? Seriously, forget about Grimaldi's. Better off going to Best Pizza, Paulie Gee's, or Sam's. Grimaldi's is decent, but not worth the line or the hype. Lots of people still respect it for it's lineage, but there's no one in the operation of the lineage (he is next door at Juliana's actually http://www.yelp.com/biz/julianas-pizz...), and the pizza is better found elsewhere. As Seb says, Brooklyn is a big place. If it were a city, it'd be the 4th biggest in the United States. Same with Queens. Enjoy yourself and don't waste too much time on lines. |

Takesushi in Sunnyside--a fortunate addition to the neighborhood I believe it. He does stuff like this. |

Looking for the Soul of New Orleans I'm coming back to New Orleans! Building the list now, and bringing my girlfriend so we can dine fine this time! |

Takesushi in Sunnyside--a fortunate addition to the neighborhood Takesushi is not a fancy roll Japanese restaurant - it's simple, good, authentic (whatever that means) Japanese food. I have been looking for MY sushi restaurant ever since I moved to Queens. Looking for a place where the owner cared about quality of cooking and was present to serve you. Also a place where you can have some dialogue with the owner, like a bar. This is it. The menu always has surprises. They even started making heroes as a competition to Subway -- not sure if it lasted, but I did have one at my table and we were the envy of the 15 foot radius of our plate - it was pretty good! Why did Robin, the owner, open up here in Sunnyside? He lives down the block. Takesushi deserves to be packed. Please show them your patronage and make sure he sticks around. |

Where do you eat in Jackson Heights? I went there the day it opened and didn't tell anyone about it. |

I couldn't believe how utterly normal Captains pizza was, as far as a normal slice goes... same with Emilio's. That area is really tough. Patricias is really cute, and the pizza is quite good. |

Viva La Comida Festival Friday 9/21 The Viva la Comida festival is this Friday, 9/21 from 4pm to 9pm. Some of the outer-borough's best street food slated already are Tortas Neza, the Arepa Lady, The Chipper Truck (Irish, Bronx), Patacon Pisao, Morocho, Tacos la Familia, and Coyote Dormilon. More from 82nd Street and festival activities. |

go to roosevelt avenue in queens |

Azuri -- rumours of great falafel are emphatically untrue 1 - holy cow, you are a passionate dude! I'd at least say they are decent. on of my favorites is Jerusalem Pita/Pita House/Pita Hut in Astoria, but I wouldn't want you to go there because I'd be too concerned about it not coinciding with your tastebuds and then you leaving an outrageous and negative post up on chowhound. |

places to eat in long island city? Hey meg. why is that? |
|
|
places to eat in long island city? just went to cafe henri for the first time this morning. I had many negative moments, but then the food came and it was hard not to like it. I'm going to go back for lunch or dinner. How would you compare them vs Tournesol? I did like Tournesol, and would probably prefer it - only because it seemed like it has more soul. |
|

places to eat in long island city? LIC Market - it's a different part of LIC, and it might be my favorite restaurant in Queens. |

About to stroll over to cuatros vientos, the best Mexican street food in the city yeah that's it. used to be something else. nothing extraordinary, but still good. |

About to stroll over to cuatros vientos, the best Mexican street food in the city yeah they're the best around this area, by far. at least on the street. |
|

This place is is really intriguing, but I have no idea what to order. How should I order here?? |
|
|
Eddies Sweet Shop is worth the trip. But you seem hard to please. So I guess just stay home and fantasize about what the past was like. |

About to stroll over to cuatros vientos, the best Mexican street food in the city They were my fav for a period. Try Tortas Neza on NE 111th Street/Roosevelt. |

While not horrible, I mostly agree that the hero is not that special at The Meatball Shop. It's decent enough, the price is okay, and it's fun to be in there though. I'm not mad at them, but I probably won't be back. |
|

Okay guys, Salvatore of Soho is out. So while nothing will replace him, Pizzeria Giove is extremely good. It's not soft like Naples, it's not a slice like Fascati's. It's awesome. One of my tops in SI and the city as a whole. |
