Villa Mozart (Fairfax)

Sorry it took so long for me to try Villa Mozart. This place rocked! I can not believe I waited so long to try it! Sadly, it looks like business is not doing well (it is just not located in the best place and people do not seem to talk about it enough) and sure enough I won't be surprise if it is gone in a few month. I had a delicious melt-in-my-mouth ravioli and the lobster risotto! Let's get the word out so VM does not fold!

Where to get your Knife professionally sharpened?

Don't know, but have liked what Sur La Table does for my Wusfhof & Henkel. William Sonoma recommends them. Also, I believe it is in October SLT gives you a discount (I think it's the 2 biggest knives free or something along those lines) So I sharpen every October... you gotta ask the nice ladies at the desk for the discount or for when they are running the discount.

Villa Mozart (Fairfax)

Has anyone been here? I know that the chef from Fiore di Luna (Great Falls) opened this. The menu looks delish, but don't want to waste the money and time if it is not worth it!
Thanks.

Georgetown Cupcake

Can anyone tell me if the cupcakes at GC are as good/better/worse than Randolph's in Arlington? I love the red velvet and orange cupcake at Randolph's. Thanks!

Metro 29 or Bob and Edith's?

Thanks everyone! I chose to go to Metro 29. Wouldn't go back. We were a group of 4 and our server was a total mess and completely forgot coffee refills and messed our orders. 2 of us had the french toast (pretty good) and 2 of us had the greek omletes (ok). Guess it is just better to eat breakfast at home.... Thinking about going back to the area of the Crisp and Juicy though...

Metro 29 or Bob and Edith's?

Have to decide on breakfast/brunch at either Metro 29 or Bob and Edith's. What is your pick?

Craving for Samosas- Fairfax/FC/Arlington

I have been craving a good Samosa (anything in it.. beef, veggies) for a while now. Those at Bombay Bistro and Wegmans have served in a pinch but I am looking for authentic and cheap samosas... any ideas. Not in DC please...

best Thai places?

I think Busara is OK. If it is near you, it is a quick, satisfying lunch. If you want something a bit more authentic but just as inexpensive Cee and Crystal Thai (both owned by the same owners) are another excellent choice. Just as everyone has mentioned Thai places are abundent and are literally on every street corner... try and few mentioned here and then make up your own mind! I find that people like "authentic" Thai or they like "americanized (read sweet)" Thai. Welcome to the area!

Bellissimo in Fairfax, Still Good?

I have heard from a few friends that they liked Bellissimo in old town Fairfax however they claim they went a long time ago. And, every time I drive by, the place looks either closed or rarely frequented. Is this the case? Is the food work a try? I have been to Dolce Vita a few times and don't think it is the best. I am Italian by heritage and grew up with the smell of homemade pasta sauce.
Thanks!

Thai Dinner Debate: Fairfax, VA

Thanks "Steve, rheelee, and Meg!" I am definitely going to give Thai Square a try in the future and will do Paya Thai for my dinner. Meg-- I tried Busara before and thought it was solid good but not wow. Thanks for letting me in on Paya!

Thai Dinner Debate: Fairfax, VA

I am a huge Thai food fan (but don't know too much about authentic Thai) but recently have been inundated with too many choices for Thai food! I have tried and loved Cee Thai Fine Dining and Crystal Thai. I was not impressed with Sakoontra or Tara Thai. I have a business meeting for dinner and would like to try another place in Fairfax... either Pad Thai or Court Side Thai. Does anyone have a preference? Also, anyone know who makes the best sticky rice in the area?

Thanks!!!!
