I got one last month from Jimmy's. Bone in, Neiman Ranch lamb for around 5.99 a pound. It was not fozen.
Chocolates in Dallas
Didnt event think about it. It would have been perfect since it was so cold and windy. Next time, for sure.
Dallas Desserts
For cake, I cant find better than Truluck's Chocolate Malt Cake and Carrot Cake. The Key Lime Pie is also really good.
Chocolates in Dallas
Stopped by Dude Sweet Chocolate Valentines day and picked up some chocolates. The flavor combinations and the quality are definatly the best I have had in Dallas. Katherine Clapner was there. She was very friendly and explained what everything is how she makes some of the items. I only wish that the larger boxes had two of each flavor. Cant wait to go back!
Snow Date Ideas?
Another high end idea, Nana or Jaspers in Plano has a lot of windows.
Best coffee shop in the Carrollton/Dallas area - even if I have to drive 30 min.
Drip for sure! Good donuts next door at Yum too.
DFW - Yutaka, Tei Tei, or Teppo
Yutaka would be my first choice. Tei An would be my second choice. Yutaka is my favorite because he does focus more on sushi. I really like the sushi bar at Yutaka.
I wouldnt judge Tei An or any restaurant by a bad reveiw by someone. If you do some research you would find a lot positive words about Tei An. Its a great restaurant.
One meal in Dallas? Must be near-ish to Love Field. . .

DFW - RISE #1
Good sweet and savory souffles. The tomato marshmallow soup is good to. Everything is good but not great. I do like the food, service and atmosphere of the place but it just doesnt satisfy me.
[DFW] Recommendations for Dining Alone
Most app's are in the 10-15 range and entrees from 28-40 range. I think desserts are around 10.00. Everything I have eaten was worth the price. Portions are not skimpy by any means. The service, atmosphere and the view are great.
[DFW] Recommendations for Dining Alone
560 by Wolfgang Puck in Reunion Tower. Nice bar with plenty of sights to keep your eyes occupied. And the food is top notch.
First trip to Dallas......
Great idea. The food is awesome and view is neat, especially if you are visiting Dallas for the first time.
Mercury Grill - What's your favorite thing to order?
Those are all my favorites! Also the "rare shortrib" appetizer cooked sousvide is great.
[DFW] Recommendations for Dining Alone
The Grape seems like a good bar for the single dinner. They even have banquets that would be perfect for one.
First trip to Dallas......
I would make the reservation now. If your wanting to have dinner at any fine dining restaurant, you would most likely need a reservation ahead of time. Although, most restaurants dont require a credit card to secure the reservation. Stephan Pyles would be a great place for dinner being your first time in town. The whole restaurant is one room broken up by the display kitchen. The ceviche bar is in front of the kitchen. The bar is in a corner in the front of the restaurant. Im sure they have photo's on their website.
looking for updated list on the best sushi restaurants in dallas
Yutaka Sushi Bistro-Traditional with a lot of creative ideas as well. The fish is always fresh and the right temperature. Teppo and Tei Tei are my second choices. For a full Asian (Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, etc ) menu including sushi, Oishi is great too.
Breakfast in Dallas
How about Buzzbrews? Anyone been lately? I used to really enjoy it. Just havent been in a while.
[SAT](salty)Citrus - Hotel Valencia
I was supposed to have dinner there one Saturday night last summer. The hotel and restaurant are really cool and hip looking. The service was soooo bad we actually left before ordering our food. I had ordered a bottle of wine that we seriously waited 20 minutes for and then gave up. It never came. Our water glasses and bread basket sat empty. The place was mostly empty. We left and went to Biga on the Banks. Im glad we did.
Breakfast in Dallas
The Oasis on Greenville Ave. and Caruth? is great. Everything I have had is really good. The biscuits are always hot and fresh. Chicken fried steak is usually what I order. Cash only.
Weekend in Downtown Dallas
Thanks for scaring them away from downtown. There are always police patroling and every street has lights on it. I think they will be ok going downtown at night.
Dim Sum in Dallas?
I had the soup dumplings at Yao Fuzi this weekend. I was pretty excited since I have never seen or tried them outside of NYC. They were pretty disappointing. They barely had an soup inside of them. The filling was flavorful and had a good texture. I thought the dough was a little thick as well. The rest of the meal was really good. The twice cooked pork was tender and really flavorfull. They served it with spicy rich napa cabbage sauce. The whole wheat buns were soft and tender. We also had a noodle dish with rice noodles, beef, pork and chicken. It was seasoned with five spice and curry flavor. It was nice and light with a lot of flavor.
Lunch in Dallas
Havent heard much about the new Pyramid restaurant in the Fairmont. Stephan Pyles is right down the street. Also One Arts Plaza has several great options for lunch. Dakota's is also very close.
