BEST PHILLY CHEESE STEAK
good question. Aren't they moving to the strip mall right next door? The one with the Vietnamese restaurant in it? Pho something. Their web page says open Sundays, hmmmm.
BEST PHILLY CHEESE STEAK
Steve's is good, not great and if you're going to hit DaddyPops in Hatboro, Blue Bell is not that far away. If so, go to Pudge's on 202 neark Skippack. Closed on Sunday, though.

BEST RETRO CHINESE IN PHILLY?
I know they have a bar and the Poo Poo Platter...not sure about Tiki dinks, although, if I go back, I will definitely get one. Sounds like a blast. Thanks for the inspiration.
Incredible pizza at LaVilla in Morrisville, PA.
you sold me, will be there on Saturday with my digi camera!
Has anyone tried the Oceanaire Fresh Seafood Experience?
My wife and I are considering going to this restaurant. Any thoughts?

Hot Breads in Montgomeryville
I miss Pumpernik's roast beef specials, ugg! Being a vegetarian does have it's downside.
City Kitchen
Got around to going to this place located in Southampton, PA. I read about it here but with few reviews if any. Went with wife and son about 3:00 PM yesterday afternoon. It's located I think in the old Maggios spot on 2nd Street Pike. It was pretty empty when we arrived We were promptly seated at a nice table. Drink orders were take, no wine so I assume it's a BYOB. I liked the linen napkins for a small, unassuming Italian restaurant. We were given the lunch menus and son and I decided to get an order of mussels each and split a pizza. On the menu, pizza is listed as Whole, $18.95, half $9.95, $1.75 per topping, we got two. What I assumed was a small personal pizza was actually 4 slices from a whole pie, kind of disappointed me.
My wife ordered an eggplant parm sandwich which came with a salad. She ordered he dressing on the side as per usual. We were given complimentry bread sticks which glistened with oil. Not bad, great with the marinara sauce the waiter brought over. Mussels were served, $9.95 which came in a nice marinara sauce. It looked like 20 mussels each. They were plump and tender although I was served one which was closed, not good form. My wife's salad was brought with dressing on, not on the side. Fortunately it wasn't much, After the appetizers, our 4 slices of pizza were brought along with the eggplant parm. Eggplant was fried, not very good and the pizza was terrible. What further disturbed me was there were very few patrons compared to the staff, so our service should have been spot on, it wasn't. No check on glass's for refills unless I asked, and every employee, for the most part was eating at the other tables. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I think Bertucci's is much better and close by.
I had to give it a shot!
New sushi in Blue Bell - Gami - anyone try yet?
Nice review, Mitch. Not a big fan of Miraku, just think of it as very average. Miraku is about 15 minutes from my fav Sushi joint, Yama, on Horsham Rd. and Norristown Rd. Get the triple Salmon roll, to die for. Also, not far from Miraku is Cho Cho San, in a strip mall a few blocks from the Montgomery Mall. Their tuna sandwich is phenominal.
My weekend in Philly - Osteria, Matyson and Dim Sum Garden
may I ask if there are any vegetarian soup dumplings on their menu?
The Drafting Room, Mitch and the great mashed potato debate
been there many, many times and have never even thought to order what Mitch and his LDC had. It's a bar, great beer selection, several specials each time I go. I typically have "bar" food, nachos, cup a soup, even a sandwhich here and there. That being said, it's a great place. It's a little quiet when I go, usually a Saturday afternoon, you can here everyone's conversation in the dining area. Quite strange, I always feel it's empty when I visit. I'm sure Friday and Saturday nights it's hopping, though. I just realized they have mussels, will give that a try next time. No veggie dishes, however, My wife is a strict vegetarian and there isn't even a portobello burger on the menu, Boo!
As long as we're talkin' pizza - Blue Bell???
Meh! a step up from frozen. Save yourselves...avoid at all cost.
Oh no, another Philly cheesesteak thread
never enough cheesesteak threads. Go for it! Enjoy!
Maia?!? Whats Happening Over There?
didn't two brothers own Maia? I thought I read one of them was leaving. Could be wrong, however.
H.I. Rib & Co - Conshohocken - open? good?
Hey Mitch! Glad you are here. I missed a review in the last two Trends I got. I look forward to your reviews, always a pleasure.
Dinner suggestions near Southampton or Feasterville.
have to disagree with you there. Been to Maggio's twice, first time average, second time horrible. I ordered the mussels which must have been frozen prior to cookng, very rubbery. My wife is a vegetarian and got a veggie hoagie which was about 1/4" thick and only had a few veggies in it. The menu said the mussels were $7.00 and when presented with the bill, it was $8.00. I asked the waitress to fix it and she seemed scared that the owner would object. So I took matters into my hands and dashed towards the manager or owner, not sure which. As he saw me stampeding towards him, my bill was corrected very quickly. I will never go there again.
Uzbekistan in NE Philly
will do, hopefully I won't be to drunk when I write it, lol! More Vodka, please. I'm going with a young Russian couple and my daughter and her boyfriend. I think my wife might come, too, even though she is a vegetarian. She's the designated driver.
Uzbekistan in NE Philly
funny you should say that. I'm about to try it on Saturday. Sounds like a hoot!
La Cava - why, oh why, is this restaurant always empty?
noper! Just value for your money. I now see no value in La Cava, none at all.
BBQ in Philadelphia area
agreed, Lucy's was bland and impersonal. A McRib had more personality.
La Cava - why, oh why, is this restaurant always empty?
It does seem overly expensive especially when you can get authentic Mexican nearby for far less, i.e. Rey Azteca in Warminster.

Here's their menu. There's some nice vegetarian items on it.

Hi AmblerGirl
I pass it almost everyday and try and see inside what's going on. I think an empty restaurant is somewhat forbidding to look at, hence, not a good draw. Since I live nearby, I'll make a point of having lunch or dinner there to support our Ambler neighborhood.
