For a friend's birthday, I want to take her to a nice, leisurely lunch. The lunch would need to be on a Saturday due to our schedules. Most of the places we originally had in mind only serve lunch Monday thru Friday. We are open to cuisine but would prefer somewhere with inventive vegetarian options. Also we would love an interesting cocktail list or wine list. I'd like to keep it around $50 a person, but for something stellar, I would go up. If its somewhere where we can walk around afterwards, like an interesting old town, that would be a bonus. Thank you!

I'm trying to find places for Valentine's Day that are vegan or vegan friendly. Most places are doing special menus that involve a lot of meat. Great Sage is offering special menu, but I just wanted to see if there were any other options. I'm not vegan, but my boyfriend is and it has been hard to find tasty options for him. Red Roost---Is it worth the detour?
I don't know if its worth a detour but its a fun place. It's set up in an old chicken coop so its laid back with a fun atmosphere. The chicken is pretty good and so are the crabs. The rest of the food was ok, nothing you can't find anywhere else.
New Years Day Brunch
Hi, some friends and I wanted to go brunch on New Years Day, which this year is a Saturday. I know a lot of Sunday brunch options, but I wasn't sure for a Saturday, let alone New Years Day. We are pretty open otherwise, willing to travel for the right thing. We tend to prefer traditional but good brunch fare, sometimes with a twist. Smoked salmon options and mimosas are a plus. We also aren't looking to break the bank either. Also there might be at least 6 so a place that would take reservations would be best. Thank you! :-)

Happy Hour
My best friend and I love trying happy hours, especially at places we can't typically afford. We've tried a few and have some on our list (The Source), but I was wondering if anyone else knows of some really good ones. They need to be in DC or Maryland, due to where we work and being able to make it in time for happy hour. We are really open on cuisine and love happy hours that have specials on wines or interesting cocktails. Thank you!
Anyone eat at Al Carbon in Rockville?
I've eaten there a couple of times. They have an excellent ceviche and a really interesting selection of tropical juices. The service is really friendly, but the wait at times can be really long. It's super cheap though and worth a try.

Does anyone know of a budget-friendly brunch spot in the Rockville area? The only place I could think of was the Silver Diner, and I would prefer to avoid that. Preferably somewhere with cocktails too!

Mother's Day Help
This may be a little last minute to get reservations anywhere, but I'm still going to give it try. Does anyone have any recommendations for Mother's Day dinner? I would prefer to stay in Maryland but I will venture into D.C. for the perfect place. I would prefer to keep the cost at about $50 a person though, so I don't know how much of a problem it will be. Going to a show at the 9:30 Club this Friday night. Yay Modest Mouse! Anyways the doors open at 8, but we would like to grab dinner before. Would prefer something cheaper to moderate. Ocean City/Fenwick Recommendations
Galaxy 66 in Ocean City is pretty, they don't have clams casino, but they do have clams which are pretty tasty. Liquid Assets is a lot of fun and Marlin Moon Grill is worth a look too.

i've heard this restaurant mentioned on the board a couple of times and i've looked at their menu. has anyone been though and could tell me about it? i love the idea and menu sounds interesting, but is it actually any good?
Desserts and Drinks in Rockville
I'm looking for intimate place to have deserts and drinks, romantic atmosphere would be a big plus. I'm willing to travel into Bethesda, but don't want to have to drive too far. A great chocolate desert is basically a requirement. Any suggestions would awesome, thank you :-)
