Bi Cuon rolls and pho
I'm looking for a restaurants that have good Bi Cuon rolls and pho in chinatown toronto. I'm new in toronto, and I would appreciate some suggestions. I tried the choo choo train place (Xe Lua I think) and it was fine. Any other??
Best Pho in Edmonton?
I am a Pho crazy person. I'm addicted to it. I have tried almost every single vietnamese restaurants in Edmonton (and all the vietnamese restaurants in chinatown toronto, which is limited I guess), and I wonder if I'm missing the "hidden gems"...I frequent Tau Bay(goind really downhill from how they used to be before they relocated to chinatown. I miss the days when it was on 107th ave) and King's noodle house. All the other places were not great.
Any suggestions on hidden gems for pho?? Please don't say Pho Hoa or Pagolac, or golden bird. By the way, Pagolac is fantastic for satay beef noodle soup, but not for regualr pho - personal tastes I guess.
Best chinese resturants in Edmonton
I understand that frustration - lol, good rule of thumb for good chinese restaurant (more of an authentic style) is: FIND THE ONE THAT HAS CHINESE PEOPLE EATING IN IT. Preferably more than half of people that frequent the restaurant should be asians. May I suggest Double Greetings Wonton House in downtown off jasper ave. Keep in mind, no chinese restaurant in edmonton is really authentic.....this place isn't truly authentic, but it is as good as it gets in my opinion without paying a lot. Scary neighborhood, yes, but it is a hidden gem. I think it is fun to "rough" it up a little sometimes for some good, wholesome, cheap chinese food LOL
Where to find good Indian food in Edmonton?
Try fishing around in mill woods, but I have yet to find any that are good enough to mention - edmonton dining for Indian food is really quite pathetic. There are no good indian restaurants in edmonton.
Best Thai and Chinese restaurants in Edmonton?
King and I is gross and grossly over priced. Bua thai is below average at best, I find. Lingnan is good, but not "terrific" good. I'm a food crazy person, and travel frequently and try anything and everything. If you are open to trying the kind of asian restaurants with 90% or more asian people eating in it, try Double Greetings Wonton House off Jasper ave - it is not fancy in any way, but it is good wholesome chinese food. It's been there forever and the food is excellent. There are many dishes on the menu that aren't scary to eat, no worries. Best ginger beef I've ever had. LOL For Thai, definitely Boualong in Chinatown. Must try Boualong if you like Thai. I have not had better Thai food in Canada so far - in a restaurant anyway. It is incredibly cheap and insanely tasty. Downside is, it is always busy, and only has 6 tables in it. No reservations, prepare to wait 2 hours or more on a weekend night. The wait is well worth it.
