Well it's a false choice! My husband and I eat great. We enjoy food and I think I'm a pretty good cook. I've eaten vegan and vegetarian food that tasted fantastic and some that had no taste at all - same for carnivorous food. It's all in who does the cooking!! Some people who call themselves vegan cooks haven't got a clue just like some people who try to cook meat and potatoes. There's gourmet and there's crap in both worlds. You've obviously eaten vegan crap. Too bad. When you're living on a restricted diet because of diabetes or a heart condition or your life or you have half your insides cut out because of colon cancer you may have to change you eat habits anyway. It's a no win situation when you live in denial. You can convince yourself that vegans are suffering out there with tasteless meals and feel better about missing half your life (or suffering through the latter part of it) but for most of us it just aint so. |

Good Rice Cooker for small amounts of rice. I love my little Tiger rice cooker. It's designed to cook up to 3 cups of raw rice. Since I usually cook a lot less than that (usually less than a cup) it's perfect for me and takes up very little space on my counter. I suggest going to an Asian grocery store if you have any in your area. They usually have a big selection and sales going on on rice cookers in all sizes and price ranges. |

If you want someplace with lots of "attitude" and authentic Mexican food with some (vegan options as well) try Pokez at the corner of 10th and E streets. Not very expensive and very funky. Lots of edgy art and and full of the local college students. For clients I would say Rama on 4th Ave. It's very near the Convention Center and Petco Park. Rama has great Thai food and lots of beautiful atmosphere including a huge waterfall across the entire back wall and a large bar. The restaurant also features large booths. Something for everybody there. |
