Hard to say. Have had exquisite tasting menus at The Fifth, Perigee, and JOV (pre-renovation). Black hoof. Veritas made me love chicken in a restaurant.

The web doesn't tatter :-D. Ex took most of the cookbooks with him. I look at others for inspiration, and then improvise. Don't bake much (obviously) because that does require following a recipe. Am hoping I get Michael Ruhlman's Ratio for Christmas.
