Any good sodas out there with no corn syrup??

Niko's Wine Corner in Snellville (Suburban Atlanta) now carries Sprecher, as well as the East Village Market in Kiawah, South Carolina.

Sprecher. It is from Wisconsin, but you can find it other places now, including some liquor stores. I order it online. The closest thing to a "regular" Coke or Pepsi is the Sprecher Puma Soda. I love the Cherry Cola and the Cream Soda, and their Rootbeer beats any I've ever had.

Good Food near Georgia Aquarium?

I'm going to be at the Georgia Aquarium in late September (celebrating a 7-year-old's birthday). Any good "kid-friendly", fun places to eat near the Aquarium? (Translation - no sushi or $40-a-plate lunches).

Atlanta with a 4 year old

Two suggestions for your day at the zoo. Mary Mac's Tea Room on Ponce de Leon, is wonderful. They have kid friendly stuff (check out their veggie plate options for some great food). The staff are friendly and understanding with tired toddlers. The other is Fellini's Pizza, also on Ponce. A hot slice and a cold fruit punch or soda feeds what you need after a day at the zoo. Another place to try (don't know how close you will be) is some of the world's greatest barbecue at Dreamland BBQ (several locations in the Atlanta area). For kids, the mac & cheese, banana pudding, and small sandwich are great. For adults... the greatest ribs and chopped pork you will ever eat. Go to www.dreamlandbbq.com

Kiawah Golfers Need Help

Hymans Seafood Restaurant near the old Straw Market is geared towards tourists, but they still do pretty good seafood. Just off Kiawah on the road to Charleston is a local place called Chez Fish. The name turned me off and I didn't go until my fifth trip to Kiawah, but we really enjoyed the food. Call ahead for a table though; they fill up fast. Plan well over 30 minutes to get into Charleston, especially if you have reservations somewhere. 45 minutes is much more like it.

Must eat places in Atlanta

Mary Mac's Tea Room on Ponce de Leon is a must. There are some great soul food places; one of the best is Our Way Cafe if you can make it out to Decatur/Avondale estates area. There are some incredible Indian places in Decatur. I can tell you more on those if you are interested in Indian.

Impressive in Charleston

THere's a great little place called Saffron, sort of a combination bakery, restaurant. We've only been there for Sunday brunch, but it was very good, and everyone could find something they liked. Plus, you can stock up on cookies and cheese straws.

Best Fried Chicken in Atlanta

Mary Mac's is my favorite so far. Been years since I tried the Colonnade. Is it still down on Cheshire bridge near all the xxx shops and strip clubs?

I'm sorta familiar with Tucker - I know where Tucker High School is and a few of the main streets. Where would I find Matthew's Cafeteria?

Why do many people still think going out on Valentine's Day is a good idea?

February 14th is amateur night. People who feel they have to be romantic one night a year do it that night. I'd rather cook a nice meal at home and avoid the crowds.

What do Chowhounds do for a living (besides eat of course)? [old]

While in school, I worked in several restaurant jobs, and then for a baker. I'm pastor of a church now. My guilty pleasures are cheese and dark chocolate, white beer, and red wine.

Try Sprecher Sodas. Unless you are in Wisconsin or Eastern Iowa, you will probably have to order online: sprecherbrewery.com. Most of their sodas are made with raw honey and vanilla as the sweeteners. My favorites are the Cream Soda and the Root Beer, but the Puma Cola is hands down the best "plain cola" drink I've ever had. The only drawback - all the sodas come in only 16 oz. sizes which is usually too much for me at a time.

Best Fried Chicken in Atlanta

I'm new to the Atlanta area, but I know the South is known for Fried Chicken. Where do you recommend for fried chicken in Atlanta?

Pilsner Urqell in a can

Anywhere in the USA where Pilsner Urqell can be purchased in a can instead of bottle? I've only been able to get it in the Czech Republic.

White Beer

Witte Kirk is my favorite. I've really gotten into the white beers from Belgium and Holland over the past year.

Foodie near Stone Mountain, GA

There is a good German Restaurant and bakery in Stone Mountain, The Village Corner German Restaurant and Bakery, and you won't be far from my favorite place in the world, the Dekalb Farmer's Market in Decatur. If you are staying in a hotel and not cooking for yourself, Dekalb doesn't have a lot to offer you, but it is one of the great food markets I've been in.
