Sunday night only in St Paul

Meritage. Wonderful food and service there. Especially if you like fish.

Sea Salt Naples

We had lunch at Sea Salt on 1/15, it was our first time to Naples (were staying in Ft. Myers) and it was a wonderful meal. We both had a whole fish and it was prepared perfectly. The service was very attentive. We are actually planning a trip to Naples just so we can eat here again.

San Antonio Restaurants

We did go to Wildfish on Thursday night, that would explain it! But it was enjoyable. How nice that we did hit the good restaurants, I am not a Tex-Mex fan so I was pleased with our suggestions!

San Antonio Restaurants

My husband and I were just in San Antonio for a convention. We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country. There was no where to eat close to the restaurant. I had searched before departing to find great eats, there were restaurants suggested on the Riverwalk, but nothing that really appealed to us. After checking in we read one of the magazines that was in the room, there were some awards given out to: Tre Trattoria, Dough Pizza, and honorable mention to Wildfish. Since they were all going to be a drive from the hotel we tried them all. They were all great. Tre Trattoria was in a great building, the food and service were great. I would highly recommend it. We had 3 starters, the white beans with gremolata, roasted golden beets and grilled radicchio. All were flavorable and perfect size to share. We then had the pappardelle bolognese, another perfect choice. Nice amount of pasta, all homemade, with a sauce that had just the right amount of cream. From that we had the whole roasted fish (I beleive it was a snapper) Perfectly cooked, came to the table whole. The amounts were not over the top, we walked away from the dinner very satisfied. We went to Dough Pizzeria for lunch, sat at the counter to watch the pizza's being made. Definitely one of the best we have ever had. The cheese is made in house and it was great! The last night we went to Wildfish. It is quite the scene! All the pretty people in San Antonio must have been there, very lively! When the server came up I asked her if the portions were large, could I do 2 appetizers and be satisfied. She told me that they aren't too big, so I went with the miso soup (which was great) and the parmesan crusted sole. I would have been fine with the soup and another appetizer. The bowl of soup was enough by itself! But, the service and food was great. We had oysters to start, bluepoint and another variety which were very fresh. My husband had a chilean sea bass that was oven roasted. started with a salad that was ok. The fish was very fresh and perfectly prepared. I would probably go back, but it was a bit too loud for my liking.

Heirloom Turkeys in Mpls Area

Cook's of Crocus Hill. www.cooksofcrocushill.com. When I ordered mine the other day they only had the smaller one's available. I believe they were a Bourbon Red Turkey!

Restaurants in Ishcia

I was there years ago (about 15) and had one of the most memorable meals. Took a boat around the back side of the island, it drops you on a beach that has very hot sand from the thermal steam, there is a restaurant called Il Girasole right on the beach. It was spectacular. I don't know if you would call it upscale, but definitely worth the trip. You can also drive there.
