Il Sogno

We are looking for a special occasion place to have a chefs tasting menu and could not get into Catch or Rouge. The only place we could get a reservation is Il Sogno, as it is a Saturday during Christmas party season. Has anyone been to Il Sogno? What are your thoughts or any other suggestions?

Thanks

Dinner With Kids in Radium

Just wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on dinner with kids in or near Radium? Something fairly casual, pub food is fine for one night and then something a bit more mid rang for a second night out.

Thanks

Alloy in Calgary

I have been to Alloy 3 times and all three have been great! I have not been for about 3 months. It is one of our go to spots and I think we will try and get in next weekend.

Mothers Pizza North Calgary

Just wanted to send a follow-up to this post. We had the pizza one night and did not find it that good. There was just not a lot of flavor and the crust was tough. Recently we have been ordering from Papa Johns and it has been very good. We like the BBQ Hawaiian Chicken.

Mothers Pizza North Calgary

Just wanted to see if anyone has ordered from here? We normally get pizza from Panago but the last two times it has not been that good.
Feedback would be great or any other suggestions within the Country Hills area.

Thanks

Wanted to send my parents some place very nice in Banff for their anniversary. Was looking at Le Beaujolais but have not been there. Has anyone eaten there in the past few months or can make other suggestions within Banff. We are trying to keep the price for two with wine at $250-300.

Thanks for your help

Vintage Chophouse changes - Calgary

Vintage was one of our favorite restaurants until a year ago that is when we saw lots of changes. The prime rib was also my favorite thing on the menu and I was disappointed they took it off.
But the one thing that really go me was the new pricing. We looked at going and a Steak was $44 and now no sides included. They even charge for any sauces I believe $4. When we looked with sharing an appetizer and desert it was going to be about $75 each pre drink. Personally after the last two dinners not worth it. If you do go would like to hear your thoughts on if this is worth the money.

Pasu Farm Sunday Buffet and Carvery

Just wanted to see if anyone has been out to Pasu for the Sunday Buffet and Carvery? If so how was it and what was the cost? I looked on their web site and no prices for this one.
As well is it hard to find and is it a gravel road? (I have a small new car and do not want to take it if it is a bad road)

Thanks for your help!

Help - Big First Date In Calgary

I was at Bonterra last night and the food was great. You can get a main pasta for $20 or a meat for $38 max. It is a good first date place not too fancey but a good room and great service.

Here is the web page.

The other place I would recommend would be brava bistro on 17th ave.

Hope that helps

Vintage Chophouse Calgary

Just was looking at going to Vintage Chophouse as we have not been for about a year. This restaurant in the past was one of our favorites but looking at the menu it has gone way up! Even for Calgary standards it has gone up a lot. Has anyone been there recently and is it all now a la carte? The menu looks like no sides included and sauces are also extra? Is it worth the $50+ for a steak, sauce and side?
If not what would people recommend for a great steak place?

Calgary food Dream......

Is it me or is the Calgary food scene just not what is use to be? I know there are lots of places opening and there are the regular guaranteed great meals places but I have been trying a new place every month and continue to be under whelmed.
What is your last Calgary food dream experience? What I mean by this is the meal that you wake-up in the middle of the night thinking about. That is what we were looking for going to St. Germaine last night and again just average. We started with the stuffed squid (waiters recommendation) it was very chewy after that I had the short ribs which were OK (Brava makes them way better) my wife had the Monk Fish which was not good at all very tough and lacking in flavor and presentation. After the meal we shared the Crème Brule it was good not great. So all in all just an OK dinning experience nothing memorable.
Has anyone gone to a new place that gives you that great dinning experience? Our stand-bys are always Vintage, Brava, Rouge etc. Or did we just hit St. Germain on an off night?
