PUPUSAS!
We had pupusas at the Downsview Market yesterday. They were delicious. We especially liked it with the shredded cabbage and hot sauce. It took a while, ~15 min., but it was because she was making it fresh. Very friendly people. We also tried the food at the Cuban booth - she had just finished making the ropa vieja so we had that with rice with ham and salad. Very tasty! We recommend making the trip from downtown.

Frozen Yogurt in T.O?
I love yogurt, but is there a place that serves good soft serve? Or am I stuck with Dairy Queen and McDonald's?
Places to try near Eglinton/Don Mills
Can you tell me some specific middle eastern places to try? Also, any thoughts on a place with good fattoush? I tried Tabouli as recommended on another thread and was disappointed...
Places to try near Eglinton/Don Mills
Hi everyone-thanks for all of the tips! Last week we took thenextbite and pinstripeprincess's advice and went to Bamiyan Kabob. We loved it! We had kofta (seasoned beef) kabob and half chicken kabob. Chicken breast meat was a little on the dry side but very flavorful. The kofta was full of great spice flavor. The mexican-style fresh salsa/sauce that comes with the meal is delicious and goes so well with the meat--is this a traditional Afghani condiment? The naan was fresh off the grill and hot and yummy! We were there on Wed. 9-10:30pm and it was packed the entire time. Service was a bit slow but we didn't mind because it tasted like it was all being made fresh. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu but we will certainly try the other places suggested on this thread--keep the tips coming, we never would've found BK otherwise! Thanks!

Hi,
We drive to the Eglinton/Don Mills area twice a week and would be interested in any suggestions for casual restaurants in the area, lunch or dinner. We're open to any kind of food--but would prefer not to have to park near Yonge/Eglinton.
Thanks!
Lunch in Oshawa
Hi and thank you for the replies. We went out and had lunch at Teddy's. Let me tell you, I grew up in NJ so I spent most of my first 19 years on this earth in diners, and Teddy's made me feel like I was back on Rt. 17 in Paramus NJ right away (that's a good thing). There was no line when we got there, which was about 1PM, but when we left at about 2:30 there was a big line, I don't know late lunch? Anyway, besides being a diner aficionado I am a NY deli expert (self appointed) and let me tell you something, Teddy's pastrami is way better than Katz's, close to the original 2nd ave deli. I am not kidding, get thee to Teddy's and have pastrami on rye. It was AMAZING!! So tender and wonderful. Stick to pastrami alone with the table mustard (the "hot" mustard was some sweet thing I was unfamiliar with) The green salad with house dressing as bad, sorry, drowning iceberg. I need to be honest. The fries were good that my wife got, crunchy hot and not oily. I will drive to Oshawa now and get that pastrami sandwich now every time I get a chance to go through that town. It is a true gem!
I cannot comment on the corned beef or other items, but when you find something wonderful stick to it, next time I go i'm having the pastrami on rye again.
Maybe they can get Dr. Brown's cram soda? If that happens, I'm moving to Oshawa!!!
