Hudson/Marlborough, MA Fish Market Meat Market Farm stand?

Small Farm is on 62. Applefield Farm is on 117 in Stow and also grows organically - they are not far from the Hudson line. They are bigger than Small Farms. Terrific greens, etc. Be careful on Saturdays because they do sell at a bunch of Farmers Markets and can sometimes seem wiped out at the stand while the trucks are out at the market.

Agree with the comment below that Quarterdeck fish is excellent. The Maynard Farmer's Market is nice too, and right across the street from Quarterdeck. I had a friend who liked a butcher in Clinton, not sure if they are still around or if anyone knows the name.

I love Idylwilde, you might find that worth the trip especially once the local stands close in fall/winter.

Anything New In Natick/Framingham?

Looking for an alternative to British Beer Company, to watch the Celtics tomorrow night. I thought there was something new along route 9 (maybe where Papi's place used to be?) but can't find anything online. Any suggestions? Casual, good food.

Food Truck Season

They definitely haven't been reliable or they are all busier than they anticipated. Am hitting the same area (Gov Center/Financial District). Finally tried Chubby Chickpea today and can't say I'll be adding it to the rotation. Tried a falafel plate (as they ran out of bread for sandwiches) and while the falafel were fine, the sides were all only ok. Hummus was way over garlicky, the veggies in the Israeli where blah, and the taboule was really weird - I swear it was actually cous-cous with parsley/etc in it. Has anyone else tried it? Will stick to Falafel King for a fix. Still interested in the crab sandwich at Go Fish and whatever Clover has to offer!

Q Restaurant, Chinatown

Thanks - sounds like it could be quite a wait for a table, we are not in a rush but drinks while waiting is a must. :) good to hear a good endorsement too!

Q Restaurant, Chinatown

I was looking for a spot to kick off a girls night out. Q Restaurant looked like it might fit the bill (we'll be at Limelight for karaoke after); can anyone tell me if they have a bar/lounge area where we could do drinks & apps? (especially if we will need to wait for a table).

And are they still open? The phone number is not in service.

Sunday Night Solo

Thank you for all the suggestions. I think I'm going to try Ecco, based on it's proximity to the Botanical Garden, and well it's actually open on Sunday. :) I checked out downtown Roswell on my last trip in Sept, I loved Inc Street Food and will certainly be back in that area to check out some of those other spots - I'm interested in Swallow at the Hallow but it was closed for 2 of my 3 nights there the last time.

Addison solo dining

Thanks, I tried Kenny's on my last night there, was a good suggestion for staying local and yes the people watching was fun. I had a great salad (greek with grilled chicken, my tummy needed a break that night) and was very excited about the popovers they have, that was a real treat!

Sunday Night Solo

I should say too, I'd ditch the Arboretum if anyone has a good food-related sightseeing suggestion, too!

Sunday Night Solo

I'm going to be in ATL for the week for work, and will have time to myself Sun PM. I was going to check out the Arboretum then need to head north to Roswell at some point. Any recommendations for a good solo dining option in between? I checked out Iberian Pig and Holeman & Finch, those tend to be the kind of places I like, not ruling them out but I wouldn't mind something with more of a Southern spin (the Pig looks a little out of the way but if it's amazing I'll try it). I would prefer to eat at the bar. TIA for any other recommendations.

Addison solo dining

Ps - had read through a bunch of prior posts, but was looking to see if anything was worth trying in Addison specifically. Thanks!

Addison solo dining

Thanks - thoroughly enjoyed NST tonight! I'm from Boston, I was totally sold on the shrimp and grits - a favorite of mine, but hard to find in my fair city! Would live to hear any similar recs. I'm into anything that is local - not so much pizza or Asian.

Addison solo dining

Thanks - but I'm on an expense account so I'd like to avoid lowly and basic! Ha ha. It will be my first trip to Dallas so I'd love some recs that highlight the best of what's local. I'm also willing to drive, say 20 mins or so too.

Addison solo dining

I'll be in town for work, staying in Addison, and would love some recommendations for solo dining. I usually prefer to eat at the bar when I am on my own, any spots that have good eats and a comfy bar?

Best Tapas in Boston (with super good Paella) :)

When did De Haro take over?

Any polite way to ask, "How much did you leave on your credit card" at a restaurant?

Sunshine842's suggestion is a good one - pull cash out for the tip and let her charge the check.

McDonald's revamps stores to look more upscale, USA Today

They make everything to order now, so just order without the mayo; easy enough.

Stock in a crock pot?

Thank you both - as you can see it was early AM when I posted and with coffee not fully circulated in me, I didn't even think to do a search - will take a look at other threads. :) Also true confession, I've never made stock before -but if the crockpot is a means to do it, I can see me making lots of it in the future.

Best Tapas or Puerto Rican Cuisine in Old San Juan?

Baru was the culinary highlight of my trip to PR a couple years ago, it was recommended to us by the owner of the hat shop in Old San Juan as a place locals would go - we loved it.

Stock in a crock pot?

I have a chicken carcass in the fridge that I should do something with. Is there any method for making stock in a crock pot? With limited time during the week I thought maybe it could be done overnight.

Restaurant with good atmosphere for celebratory dinner with advisor/mentor?

Hamersley's was my first thought, too.

Bar-Seating and Reservation Etiquette

I don't think it's any more wrong than them expecting you to tolerate their tardiness. I do this all the time - one too many times I've made the reservations then been stuck fending for the table waiting for everyone else to arrive. I tell the group, we're on for 6:30, and make the reservation for 6:45 or 7:00 (30 mins if it's a bigger group & I know we won't be seated with an incomplete party).

Banh Mi / College Park

Any place in the College Park area for a great Banh Mi? My office is right on Rt 1 close to the Beltway. Would love a good lunch option.

Top Chef All Stars Reunion Show

I concur, EAH. When I first watched the episode, I was certain it was Padma. But I re-watched that bit via DVR over the weekend and agree it was Casey.

Top Chef All Stars Reunion Show

Oh, I really think that was Padma telling her she didn't have to respond.

Looking for Medieval Private Dining in Boston

Both Higgins Armory or Hammond Castle would be the right setting, but not for 10 people - those are facility rental options, not restaurant options.

Looking for Medieval Private Dining in Boston

Smith and Wollensky's 'castle' location would certainly have the right ambiance, and I am sure could give you a private space.

Looking for Medieval Private Dining in Boston

I think Monday Bar will give you a private room - friends had a rehearsal dinner there.

Washington Post Date Lab participant claims to be a "foodie"

I met a woman in DC once who said she was a foodie, I asked her what kind of foods she liked & she said "I like meals that are small and very expensive."

Top Chef All-Stars - Ep. #15 (Finale Pt. 3) - 03/23/11 (Spoilers)

Holy cow Blaise looks about 20 lbs healthier in that pic!

Cuban Sandwich in Beltsville/College Park Area?

Thanks - doesn't look too far! I don't mind a 20 minute drive.
