Central Coast 'Hounds: How about this plan?
FYI... McPhee's no longer does a brunch either. I've found the best brunch on the central coast to be Hoppie's.... really really good.
Reservations necessary at Bakersfield Basque restaurants?
My husband and I were in Bakersfield last weekend. Benji's is the only Basque place open on Sundays and a reservation is highly helpful. We got there at 6:30 and didn't eat until 8:15. That being said we had a great time, so enjoy yourselves!!
Paso Robles Rehearsal Dinner
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. My husband and I got married at Silver Horse Winery in 2005. We rented out the back room and patio at Villa Creek for the evening. Cris Cherry (owner) and Tom Fundaro (Head Chef) did a fabulous taco bar. We had a white and red wine available to all our guests. It wasn't a sitdown dinner, but more of a mingle thing. We opened it up to any guests that wanted to stop by and say hello. To keep cost down....if our guests wanted a cocktail they went to the bar and bought their own drinks. I have to say it was just a fantastic evening. So this might be something you would want to consider. The number to Villa Creek is 805-238-3000 and I think Eric would be your contact. Hope this helps.
Bernick's Prime Steakhouse [Paso Robles]
My husband and I ate at Bernick's during their soft opening. We found the feel of the restaurant to be quite appealing. They didn't have a ton to offer at that point.... still getting the kinks out, but I think the overall rating was quite good considering. Paso needs a decent steakhouse and no offense to the reply below.... but Cool Hand Lukes is hardly that, nor do they raise their own beef in the valley, I've eaten twice and was told that they used Harris Ranch Beef.
As for the winelist, well it's quite good and I LOVE the fact that they're not stuck in the local only wine mindset, it's nice to have a change.
