About to move to D.C. from Austin. Will need TexMex, Fajitas, and BBQ
I went the BBQ place on H st for lunch and was a bit disappointed. The brisket was rather dry in my opinion even asking for a fattier portion. It came out a chewy. The prices were a bit high in my opinion compared to the BBQ places in Austin like Rudy's. Then again, i haven't found anything particular a good value in DC for food as its quite expensive to eat out there. I also ordered the ribs and they were mediocre, not great but not bad.
Americanized Chinese food Baltimore
Unfortunately if you are looking for something more authentic towards Chinese, you will need to go to Wheaton/Silver Spring area to Full Kee or Paul Kee. Many places have tried to do more authentic chinese and have failed. The amount of prep time versus what is sold is just not worth it to most places these days.
Affordable Italian in Baltimore?
I feel Chiapparelli's is on the upper end of the Little Italy restaurants in Baltimore. It is definitely not on the lower-end of the price point.
Fast Eddie's pit beef?
I have been to their aberdeen location and people tell me the fallston location is better. The pitbeef is ok at fast eddies with no real competition around so if you are in the mood for beef beef and live in the area, its ok.
Attman's Deli
I went there this past wednesday and the corned beef still tastes the same as when i was a small child. For some reason i feel the sandwiches use to be a bit more stuffed years ago than they are now. It might be just me though.

Ray's The Steaks is a mediocre steak house at best.
I've always had a good experience at Rays. I feel the mashed potatoes are pretty good and so is the cream spinach. Though the cream spinach might not be as good as The Prime Rib, its still very good for a included side item. I feel the steaks are good steaks and they always cook it the way i like (pittsburgh style). The crab bisque is also one of my favorite soups i've ever had.
I will agree on a few of your points and that is they use to not accept reservations and that has changed at their new location. I did agree that their tables at the old location were pretty close together but that was to accommodate more guests and reduce the waiting times. I feel the prices are very reasonable given the location and the food quality you get. A New York Strip steak is $21.50 at my local outback for a 14oz and you get a much larger and better one at Rays for under $30 from what i remember the last time i was there.

Grace Garden recently suffered some pretty bad damage to their location forcing them to close at the moment.

While its not exactly downtown but its fairly close to it. I recommend Edgewater Restaurant for crab cakes.

The only Ruth Chris in Baltimore I recommend is the original water st location. I will agree the Pikesville branch just isn't up to par with the original one as far as service and overall experience.

If you must stay local, Christopher Daniel seems on Padonia Rd. seems to get good reviews on this board. From what i hear from close friends, Milton Inn is not what it use to be. Another choice is Bluestone in Timonium if you prefer traditional american fare. There is also always Friendly Farms off Mt. Carmel Rd but Christopher Daniel and Bluestone has a more modern dining room.
If you like to venture further south, I've always been a fan of Linwoods, Prime Rib, and Ruth Chris. Those three places will be right at the cutting edge of your budget though with that size party.

They have been selling this since they opened in Hunt Valley. They are now selling the Wagyu beef fairly recently.
where to buy lobster in baltimore?
If you can venture outside of the city to the korean grocery stores in Catonsville and Ellicott City, their prices are much better than most for lobsters.

Fager's Island and Secrets will probably be the best two places this time of year. I have always enjoyed Big Peckers for a inexpensive lunch that is a bit better than the typical fast food. Cast aways is also pretty decent and i'm not sure if fish tales is still open this time of year.

If by egg tarts, you mean the egg custard tarts. I feel Oriental East makes them pretty good on sunday. You have to get them pretty early as they some times sell out.

Fogo De Chao cannnot even compare with some of the ones said in here. While it is a decent restaurant, the steak they use does not taste like it is at least prime grade.

Yes you can just get the salad bar. I feel the salad bar is very good. I can't remember the exact price of just the salad bar but i wanna say around $30 and full deal is about $47. The only chicken they offered from what i remember was a bacon wrapped chicken.

Jeans and a polo shirt is fine and that is a minimum in my opinion as far as dress code goes. Its fairly casual but i wouldn't recommend going directly to there from the gym in your work out gear.

Fogo De Chao is probably my favorite Brazilian churrascaria steakhouse in the area. The salad bar is very good with a good fresh variety. I find the meats to be much better here than Texas de Brazil but they do not have much Seafood. Chima and Texas de Brazil have more selections than Fogo, but i prefer Fogo's meats. I will say Chima does do a better beef rib than Fogo De Chao, but for the other meats....Fogo wins in my opinion.
Chicken Fried Steak
The Texas roadhouse CFS would be alot better if they reduced the amount of salt. So far i've had it at the Westminster and York locations and they both were a bit on the salty side for me. Cracker Barrel is not bad though and probably one of the better values.
