Chinese Tea in North Atlanta?

I usually buy chinese tea (loose leaf from Ten Ren teahouse) in NYC's Chinatown and ship it back or pack it in luggage to bring to family in Alpharetta. Does anyone know where I can purchase good chinese tea near Alpharetta or in the ATL area that has a good selection to choose from? I'm looking for some place that has a good selection of loose leaf chinese teas so we can buy it regularly that's local.
Thanks!

Help With A Venue On Long Island

Have you ever been to Waterzooi? They have really great food and the catering menu looks much more affordable than Carltun. I've researched both because I just did a bridal shower for 25 guests for my sister. Carltun would not work with me at all with the price, most other places would bring it down a bit if I wanted to take away a few items or even add things. Waterzooi was already booked for my date by the time I went to reserve it. For the afternoon, you have a choice of brunch/lunch/sitdown or buffet style.

Long Island: where can i buy fish right on the dock at boatside??

Could be.. it sounds familiar. I will be having dinner with pops tonight and will ask him. Is that the experience you have had at Two Cousins? What do you think of the place?

Long Island: where can i buy fish right on the dock at boatside??

My dad always goes to Freeport for fresh fish, scallops freshly caught and still in the shell (delicious!) and all sorts of seafood. He asks the fish store what day the boat is planning on returning from a trip and he'll just go back the day the boat is supposed to arrive. My dad has been getting seafood from the same place for probably years and years. However, I think the food must be moved from the boat and into the building to purchase.. The store is right next to the water where the boat docks. I'll ask him the name of the place and post if you're interested.

There's Striphouse on 12th for a really good steak, Gotham Bar and Grill across the street and Il Cantinori.

GOOD BREAKFAST PLACES IN MANHATTAN?

I really like Kitchenette and Blue Ribbon bakery. Kitchenette has more of a home feel to it like you're in grandma's kitchen which I like and they have the best biscuits and fruity butter spreads.

Italian Guest With Me For 3 Months - Where to Go?

There a small place called Frank's in the village and I've always thought it was very good. It was recommended to me many times and I seem to always read good reviews and articles about it in magazines and papers. But beware, it can get really really packed since it's a popular place but I can't remember if they take reservations.

Where can I get really good mushroom ravioli?

ONE on Little West 12th street has really delicious mushroom ravioli! It's has great mushroom flavor and hope you get to try it at some point. This place turns into a busy lounge in the evenings so unfortunately, this is a place that may require reservations.

recs for THAI,Asian Fusion, or Mediterranean below 14th please

Hello Manhattan chowhounders,
I'm looking for either a Thai, Asian Fusion or Mediterranean restaurant in NYC below 14th street for a 10 person dinner. Here is what we're looking for and hopefully, with your expert advice, we'll be able to find a great place!

Must haves:
Thai, Asian Fusion, or Mediterranean cuisine
less than $20 per entree
Noice level low enough so we'll be able to speak to each other without screaming (lots of catching up to do with old friends)
Not packed in like sardines where tables are on top of each other

Strongly preferred:
Below 14th street
BYO - helps us save some loot as many of us are trying to these days

I apologive if this is a very picky request... I hope I can get some ideas though. Thanks everyone in advance!!!

Nassau - Where was your bridal shower & how much was it per person?

I've been quoted prices from $30 - $50 per person for a Sunday brunch, lunch, or afternoon tea. Just wanted to see if anyone's got something better priced. Thanks!

60th Birthday Afternoon Tea Party on Long Island North Shore?

robin76, did you end up going to lady anne's? I'm trying to plan a bridal shower for my sister now and am also thinking of an afternoon tea for about 30 people. Just wondering if you could share your experience at Anne's or whereever you decided on. Thanks!

Gaslight, Hoboken - Bridal Shower

Gaslight has a great skylight room. If you walk through the bar area, then the first dining room (this room has less light), you'll get to the area you're talking about. It feels like a courtyard that's enclosed with a glass ceiling. Very cute and good for a bridal shower. It's a good size and enclosed so you'll feel like you can have a private party.

What to do with 3 dozen peaches.

Make a ton of peach smoothies and add other fruits for each batch so it's not all the same.

Summer Prix Fix at MGM

I just returned from Vegas and had the Nobhill summer restaurant menu. It was fantastic! I had the appetizer sampler that came with 2 of each of beef skewer, springroll and crabcakes. They were presented beautifully, like a piece of art and came with a different sauce for each app. For my entree, I had the Cioppino and boy was that amazing! The scallop and lobster were my favorite but it had tons of seafood and a delicious tomato-ish soup poured over it at the table. I tried a friends Chicken something and it was really good, especially the truffled mac n' cheese. 10x better than the truffled mac n'cheese I had a BOA steakhouse the night before. Dessert was creme brulee or some strawberry salad.. and believe me... you must go for the strawberry salad. Creme brulee was nothing special.

I hope MGM has this every summer!

Summer Prix Fix at MGM

Just spreading the foodie wealth... MGM has their summer restaurant menus up on their site and it's a $60 prix fix at many of their restaurants. I have made a reservation for Nobhill, and the menus for Shibuya and Joel Robuchon also look really good. Enjoy!

Best Restaurant Wk dinner you've ever had

They're taking reservations!

I've been to a good number of restaurant wk options for dinner and I usually wait until the menus are available before I choose a spot (I call and call until they have one to email or fax me). I love restaurant week but seems like there are too many places who serve a menu nothing like what they usually have... so if you have any suggestions on where to go that has a great selection for the prix-fixe and is very similar in quality and creativity as their usual dinner menu, please do tell! menu details would be great too.

Some of my faves:
Patroon, Brasserie 8 1/2, Asia de Cuba

Considering for dinner:
Butter, 21 Club, Davdiburke & Donatella, Il Cantinori

Sauces to get at Pommes Frites?

The sundried tomato is really delicious with the french fries.. like a ketchup with a zing. I also love any of the garlic ones.

Rick to riches is so good. I love getting 2 flavors side by side. They have high tables that you can stand at and eat, but no seating. Wish they had..

Tony's diNapoli, 43rd St.

If you like Carmine's, you'll like this. I actually prefer this place over Carmine's.. it's not as touristy but still very popular. They're penne a la vodka is good.

NY Philharmonic in Central Park, picnic or restaurant?

candles and garbage bags... great idea. Maybe I'll make them citronella candles to keep the bugs away too. What picnic food have you seen people go all out with? Also, do you people bring lawn chairs or just blankets?

I'd probably be part of the crowd that wants to listen to the music but my SO is not so maybe I'll just sit in the middle and near a speaker.

The Concert in the Park is only 2 weeks away. It's my first time going and I'm very excited! Has anyone been before and do you recommend setting up a picnic or will you be dining nearby (where?) before heading over?
