lovely, delicious outdoor dining in/around Providence
Loie Fuller's has a brand new and quite lovely back patio. They're still working on the finishing touches (completing the outdoor bar, etc.), but it's delightful so far -- tucked away from the street and surrounded by herb gardens. Oh, and don't worry about the rain -- the patio's covered!
Indian in Providence
Excellent. Thanks! And yes, you're right about it being in Pawtucket. It's right there on the line! And with the proper name I was actually able to find the web addy. for anyone interested: http://rasoi-restaurant.com/
Indian in Providence
Has anyone tried the Indian restaurant sandwiched between LJ's and Garden Grille? How's the food? How's the atmosphere? I love Not Just Snacks, but never ever ever order in. I'm hoping this place -- is it Rasao? -- has a better groove. Is the food at least as good as their other place, Kabob & Curry?
V-Day Providence, minus the romance
This may be a tough bill to fill, but I'm looking for a place to take a friend who's coming to town on Valentine's Day. This is NOT a romantic affair, and I'm having a hard time coming up with a place where we can relax for a couple hours with a decent and reasonably priced meal and a bottle of wine. We're normally comfortable at Julian's on a Thursday night -- though the kitchen is known for their erratic ways, the super-friendly and (if need be) apologetic service almost always makes up for it. Any similarly cozy, laid-back dinner spots that might not be all love-birded out on the 14th? Loie Fuller's is a bit uptight for my taste (I had such bad service I can't imagine returning), and I suspect the Red Fez will be packed. My guess is that Red Stripe, Haruki East, and Nick's will all be overwhelmed. Am I missing any obvious options?
