Monday Night deals

I'd like to re-introduce this thread. Any new monday night deals out there?
Thanks

First (and probably last) meal at 'Inoteca (Gramercy)

I think you went on an off day. I've been to this location a couple of times and have loved everything, especially the cured meats, meatballs, lamb sausage, chickpea fritters, and eggplant lasagna. Never had a problem with salt levels, in fact, the chickpea fritters could use a little more salt. I also think the glossary included with the menu is a fantastic addition, it really opens up the menu to those who don't speak italian without having to ask the server a million questions. I could care less what type of "coolnes" that negates.

1st Wedding Anniversary in Martha's Vineyard

Looks like Mediterranean moved to Oak Bluffs, no longer on the water...

True Bolognese

Thanks Everyone. Has anyone tried the bolognese at Da Andrea?

True Bolognese

Does anyone where I can go to find a truly authentic, and great Bolognese sauce. Not just red sauce with ground beef. I hear babbo does a great one, any others, maybe at a spot a little easier to get into.
Thanks

Degustation or Alta

I've done the 10 course tasting at Degustation and the "whole shebang" at Alta and there really is no comparison between them, aside from the fact that they serve small plates. Degustation is in a much higher class when considering ingredients, cooking style, flavor combos, originality, creativity, presentation, etc. Alta is good for a big group and the atmosphere is pretty nice/romantic (when not packed), but they do try to get you in and out, and the unoriginal food is not prepared or presented with much care.

Wilmington VT Eats

I've been to both Smokin J's and Maple Leaf Brewing. Maple Leaf is pretty good. had the burger and the pizza and both were done very well. I hear the chicken wrap is good too. good selection of beers. Only picked up a half rack of baby backs at smokin J's, not very smoky, and a little overcooked and falling apart, but otherwise meaty with a good rub, sure hit the spot after a day of skiing but nothing I would go out of my way for.

5 dudes, 32yrsold, looking for easy, enjoyable, drinks and dinner

I wouldn't go to Georgia's for their bbq (they bake, boil and grill their meat), or their drinks (byob only).

Shabu shabu with wine instead of broth

Are there any places in the city that offer shabu shabu style eating/cooking with simmering wine instead of broth?

Looking for on-site cooking BBQ caterer in Southeastern MA area

Not sure how far this guy travels (located on LI) but he's the best.

Georgia's Eastside BBQ - recent trip?

They don't serve authentic bbq, but the ribs are still pretty good. The pulled pork on the other hand has a funny taste. Haven't tried the brisket since they only serve it on tuesdays. The best thing on the menu is the andouille sausage. I wouldn't go here if you are looking for anything with a smokey flavor.

Hanger Steak

I am looking for an authentic Italian restaurant that serves a fantastic hanger steak. Anywhere downtown, preferably in the chelsea, west village, union square area.
Thanks

Chicken fingers in NYC

The old Hog Pit has great chicken fingers, best value in the city. Not sure about the new place though.

Mayonnaise Packets

I think Wendy's has mayo packets sitting out

Steakhouse Bars

Second the Bull & Bear, very big bar, and I believe they film a nightly news show from there.

Blue cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon

I see plenty of almond stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, but haven't been able to find blue cheese stuffed dates. Anyone know where I can find those in the downtown area?
Thanks

Communal Table Downtown

Might be a big more casual than you want, but Le Pain Quotidien on 7th and 17th has a nice comunal table.

Real corned beef hash - Where??

I've only had corned beef hash at Sarges, and I think it's great, but then again I have nothing to compare it to. And get the fries instead of the bland potato that comes with it.

need reasonable place for drinks near grand central

Blarney Stone on 3rd and 45th. Very reasonable, and I'm sure if you ask for your bacon cheeseburger (best in midtown) on a small plate they will accommodate.

When's the last time anyone ate at Sarge's?

I was there back in the spring, and the corned beef hash was excellent, as usual.

where to buy the best pork butt?

Western Beef. 16th btween 9th and 10th

Rice Bran Oil

Does anyone know where I can buy rice bran oil in the chelsea, west village (or close by) area. Just picked up a deep fryer and I'm hearing this is the healthiest oil to use.
Thanks

Trevi wine bar and tapas in Mashpee Commons

I'm going to assume the lack of response was because locals wanted to keep this place secret. I went last week and it was fantastic, best mac and cheese I've ever had. Lamb lolipops (bone in ribeye cut) were great, cooked perfectly. Some sort of turkish meatball was very good, as were the asparagus. The cured meat place was a little weak.

Chelsea W/Village dinner recs

I'm looking for a place to take my parents that will make them say "wow that was quite an experience". Someplace that has a bit of a scene (not looking for small, quaint, or romantic), great food, and a big enough reputation so when they go back home (Mass) and tell their friends where they ate their friends will say "oh wow, that must have been quite an experience".
Any price range, any cuisine
Thanks

Trevi wine bar and tapas in Mashpee Commons

Anyone try this place yet? Menu and indoor/outdoor space look great.

fresh seafood near 25th & 8th ave?

Mare is on the northeast corner of 20th and 8th

Keen's or Peter Luger's?

I would definitely suggest Keens if you are coming from midtown west. I’ve been to both and they each have ample atmosphere, in their own way, but since the quality of meat is the same, (despite what most people on this board will tell you) there is no need to leave Manhattan unless you specifically want to travel to Brooklyn.

Falmouth town line bar/restaurant

Anyone know of a bar/restaurant right on the Falmouth/Bourne or Falmouth/Sandwich town line? I thought it was called the Town Line Bar but I can't seem to find anything on that.
Thanks

Ginger Man

I haven't been in over a year but last time I was there they did not serve any fried food. Up to you weather that is good or bad. Basicaly just sandwiches and salads.

Striphouse: food is fine, but is decor offputting?

You can always try Wolfgangs Tribeca, it's a bit of a different scene but same great steak.
