Recs For Best Veggie Burgers In Town

I have a friend who loves his veggie burgers. Any recommendations.. preferably in the East Village or LES (for ease of deliver), but definitely not closed to other areas of the city.

I recently introduced him to Quantum Leap and he seems to like that. I know Westville East has a great veggie burger. Anything else? Thanks :)

Birthday Party-Group of ~10- Downtown

Im looking for a spot for my 23rd birthday. I was considering doing it at the Stanton Social (a great space and perfect pricing) but they are booked. :-( I also looked at THOR, but I have a few student friends, and want to keep their budgets in mind. I will be hosting approximately 10-12 for dinner and a few more for drinks after. Any other suggestions? Something in the downtown (E. village/LES area).. Thanks!

Searching for pastitsio

I recently had pastitsio at Pylos and it was delicious. Any other restaurants that would have it? The restaurant can be a hole in the wall or upscale..

where do you buy supplies?

Broadway Panhandler (8th st right off Bway)

small plate / tapas

For tapas i'd hit up Xunta (1st ave between 10th and 11th)

where to buy fresh and dried chiles?

Kalustyan's basically has every spice you'd ever need. You can check what they have in stock through their website. < http://www.kalustyans.com/ >

Address:
123 Lexington Avenue
New York, NY 10016

Sushi in Queens

I like this spot called Ginza on Francis Lewis and I think 37th Ave, if im not mistaken. They have dozens of custom made rolls named after people and are all about substitutions and "build your own sushi" great place to try.. also reasonable in price.

Anything good in Washington Heights?

Hispaniola on 181st Street and Cabrini for Latino-Asian fusion
Plum Pomidor on Broadway and 167th Street, with New American food.
Fibe on 170th and Broadway (across from Rite Aid),
Malecon and El Conde on 175th and Broadway for Latin cuisine.
On the 187th Street and Fort Washington Corridor, you have:
Bleu Evolution, Next Door, and 187 West.
The M Bar is a good place for a drink after dinner on FW and 187th, along with Coogan's on Broadway and 167th.

Dinner and drinks in Forest Hills

I'm open to the type of cuisine as long as there are a few vegetarian options. Something low key, not too pricey around $20 for entrees. A good spot for a 2nd date.

Any ideas for drinks afterwards? Also, low key.

Tasty and affordable dinner options around 55th/Lex..

Caracas Arepas Bar- Venezulan- 7th between 1st and A
Xunta- Tapas- 1st ave between 10th and 11th

Tasty and affordable dinner options around 55th/Lex..

I can't really say I am looking for something specific.. it can be American (Nouveau), French, Indian, Thai..just something to be pleasantly surprised with..nothing to snazzy.

Alternatives to Starbucks?

Think Coffee on Mercer between W 4th and 3rd. Great fair trade coffee, delicious soup and usually good music. Sometimes finding a seat takes a few minutes.

Are there any cute non-chain coffee shops in Queens?

I just moved back to Douglaston from the East Village and i am having a hard time adjusting to the fact that sitting in a coffee shop most definitely lands me in a chain store. Does anyone have any suggestions for a trendy place near the Queens/LI border where there might be good coffee, music, wireless internet? Am I asking for too much? Thanks!

Tasty and affordable dinner options around 55th/Lex..

Looking for a dinner spot for tomorrow.. nothing too over the top.. just good. I'm pretty flexible about the type of cuisine. I will be ending up on 55th between Lex and 3rd, so i'd prefer if the restaurant was somewhere around that area. Thanks!
