Seal/Hunington Beach Visit- recomendations food and fun

Beachwood BBQ is very good - in Seal Beach.
Not too far from Seal Beach (just a few miles) in Naples section of Long Beach is Michael's (Italian).
And just down the street from Michael's is Open Sesame for Lebanese.
Agree with previous poster, that Westminster and Garden Grove are excellent for Vietnamese and Korean, respectively.

Long Beach...Davinci, Delius or Original FIsh House?

Definitely Davinci - no contest

Seeking Private room in Long Beach/Seal Beach area for corporate luncheon in March

Davinci's on Signal Hill is a great restaurant. They have several private banquet rooms & can easily accomodate your number. Not sure about your technical requirements, but I'm sure they'll have something that will work. Here's the link. Check out the Banquets page: http://www.davincilb.com

Seeking EL SEGUNDO restaurants for dinner w/ east coaster

Agree with Tin Roof Bistro recommendation. Very good, and yes, one of the better places in the area.

French Macarons in Brentwood

Maudie5, this board is for everyone to comment on their experiences. I'm thinking your extreme opinion, as you put it, "just doesn't feel right."

Costa Mesa Bear Papa - RIP

bummer. Hope the one near me survives..Cerritos

Help! Need a place for drinks/dinner near the 405 in Signal Hill, Long Beach, Lakewood area

Ristorante Da Vinci in Signal Hill, is right off the 405. Great food, wine & nice views of planes taking off from LB airport. One of my go to places in the area.

houndworthy around long beach airport?

DaVinci's and Delius, both in Signal Hill are good. $30/person should be enough for some of entrees, not including cocktails/wine.

Rehearsal Dinner Near Long Beach/Cypress?

Not too far in Los Alamitos is Shenandoah at the Arbor. I've heard that it has nice banquet facilities..and food is pretty good (though I haven't had it since it was in Belmont Shore)

Long Beach near Westin

Modica's is pretty good, only a block away. If you go to Pine Ave (a few blocks west of Westin), there are plenty of options either north or south of Pine. North of PIne - George's Greek is excellent. South of Pine, mostly chains, but there's a good Irish Pub, Auld Dubliner, down there.

The relatives are coming into town..iso mid price range with terrific food in Seal Beach/2nd Street area

Nowhere. I guess fish doesn't make the list. Good thing the OP kept option open by not specifying any cuisine, just pricing guidelines. Agree with George's Greek, Enrique's & Beachwood BBQ (not in any particular order.)

Diners Drive-Ins and Dives

He did a show in Long Beach's Schooner or Later

Best restaurant in Long Beach

Most definitely agree with earlier rec's on Tracht's.

Good fish sandwiches

22nd st landing has a good grilled mahi mahi sandwich

Fusion Sushi in Costa Mesa = Hermosa Beach?

They used to be all under same owner, years ago when CM locale first opened. I don't believe they are anymore. I see coupons in the mail monthly from them, and they do not mention the CM location on their ads. It says "4 locations to serve you... HB, Manhattan Beach, Torrance & LB"

Breakfast near Aquarium/Pacific - LB

quick, meaning order at counter, fast food style? Here are a couple of options if you don't want to wait or pay for sit down service.
Mosher's, on Ocean and Pine:

Chronic Tacos, new location in Belmont Shore, on Ocean, next to Vons. I don't think the site is updated to show it, but you can call them.

Elephant Bar Restaurant

Their lamb shank is pretty good, probably the best dish on their menu.

Long Beach: Trachts or Da Vinci or L'Opera

Agree with Fed. Tracht's all the way.

what is it about white castle

Wait..I love them both!! I'm in Ca, & I love my double-doubles, but you can find the big box of frozen White Castle cheezeburgers in my freezer right now.
After a few seconds in the microwave, same squishy texture as if they were just steamed on the restaurant grill.

Deli in Long Beach?

There's an italian deli..Angelo's in Belmont Shore, on the corner of Laverne & 2nd. Very good. Then there's the gourmet deli place, Olives, on Broadway just west of Redondo.

In-N-Out, Fatburger, Culver's Throwdown

Unbelievable --- this has been the 10 year debate between myself (Calif born and bred) and my BF (Wisconsinite)... The only thing that we both agree on is that Fatburger doesn't even belong in the category -- it's always been a double-double vs butterburger battle.
Thanks for taking one for the team with such a protein packed throwdown! We can finally let this rest with your tie breaking results. Culver's it is!!!

Help 4 Tonight. Recs in Long Beach, 2nd & PCH area

Not sure if you're familiar with the area, but Belmont Shore is just west of PCH on 2nd. It has many restaurants to choose from. Several good middle eastern places: Open Sesame (but most crowded), Sunnin & Magic Carpet (both are good, and not as crowded). Several Japanese places and a couple of Mexican places too. Vints, Bonos and Michaels on Naples are the higher end restaurants -- mixed reviews on the board.

The best place to go based on your location and good criteria is definitely Enriques on PCH and Loynes (1/2 mile no. of PCH and 2nd), but always a long wait for a table. But it really is worth it!

lunch in Long Beach near Cal State?

Yes, that's it!!!

lunch in Long Beach near Cal State?

There's a pretty good Philly cheesesteak place north on PCH. Near the traffic circle, can't be more than 3 miles. I forget the name, but it's very good.

Otherwise, Hof's Hut for standard diner food.

Long Beach Fun Family Food for Friday Night

This place has a great selection of tasty burgers...and you can order any one of them slider sized!! In Downtown, several blocks west of Pine.

need some help in long beach

But I think when somebody is looking for recommendations from this board, they're probably looking for something unique, where the locals would go. That's what I use chowhound for. If I wanted a list of chain restaurants, I'd just use yellowpages.com (which I've also done too).

Whats your favorite place in Manhattan Beach/Redondo Beach/Long Beach

I would recommend Tracht's over 555 East. It's known as a chophouse, but the menu is much more. Ironically, the more interesting dishes are NOT the steaks (though those are good too).

They have a nice wine list, plus some interesting cocktails if you prefer

Mobile Knife Sharpening in Long Beach

I think Kitchen Outfitters in Naples used to have this service.

Two new additions to Long Beach

Michaels is on 2nd street, 1 block west of 2nd and Ravenna. It is a few doors down from center w/ The Small Cafe, Naples Gourmet Grocer.

need some help in long beach

Enriques- great choice, definitely the must do on your dinner alone list. George's is also reliable.
For business dinner nights - consider Tracht's, mostly good/great reviews on this board.

Cabs are fairly available. If you walk, stay within perimeter of George's to the North and 555 to the East. West and south of Hyatt are okay.
