I've heard great things about Fly Bar, Ceviche on S. Howard (get a green shuttle to take you there) serves pretty late on the weekends, and if you're looking for something quick Paninoteca makes a really great sandwich |

I haven't personally been here, but a friend of mine, who is chowhounder, went last night and used the words "awful" "uninventive" "overpriced" ----- |

I third this. Flaming cheese is great as is the greek meatball (which is not actually a meatball at all) and the Pastisio (sp?). Its also very reasonably priced |

Tony's has some of the best chowder I have ever had in my life. My father loved it so much he requested that we mail some to him at home in Kansas. |

Suggestions for Road Food on 1-75, I-24, I-70 Hey Fellow Chowhounders! My boyfriend and I will be making the long trek from Gainesville, Fl to Kansas City, KS for Christmas break this year. We always seem to find ourselves eating at ken-taco-mc-chick-hut on these trips and since neither of us enjoys fast food at all we're looking for some real road food on our drive. The trip takes us up 1-75 through Atlanta to I-24 in chattanooga, from there we take 57 N to 64 West and finish on I-70 from outside StL to KC. Anything local, good, "divey", we're willing to try anything! Thank you very much |

My boyfriend and I will be in St. Augustine for the fourth this year. We're driving in late on the 3rd (from what I've read, probably too late to eat!) and will be there all day on the fourth and the morning of the fifth. He's one of those people who insists on eating breakfast every day- will anything even be open on the 4th, or should I plan on packing corn pops? |

I just want to thank my fellow chowhounds. I'm eating a Burrito Bros. Burrito right now. I was debating BBs or Chiptole (they're right next door to each other, and both near my bus stop) b/c of you guys I chose BB. I DEFINITELY made the right choice! Why does anyone even go to Chipotle? It doesn't make sense, this thing is amazing! |

I went here last night and had what might have been the best burger of my life. It was late (9:30) and I had been drinking a little (its st. pats!) so I'm wondering if it was good because chefburger is really worth the $9 for a hamburger, or if it was good because I was starving and drunk. Anyone else had an experience here? |

Hereford House, Kansas City, for steaks? Honestly, I find that Hereford house is really hit or miss... but I have plenty of suggestions: |

If you're gonna be in OP I'd definitely suggest the Thai Place. I prefer Ann's older location at 87th and Grant (between Antioch and US-69), its small and cozy, the more decorated and newer looking location at 119th and Quivira is just as good. Some of the best Thai i've ever had, anywhere and they'll make the spicy level almost any way you want ( i request mild plus). |

I had the best turkey burger of my life there. My boyfriend had beef I think, and he had the same complaint as everyone else- OVERCOOKED. It was also horrendously overpriced, I think we each paid like $10 for our meals. A burger that expensive either needs to be REALLY good or have a LOT of stuff on it. |

so this ameristar buffet is $20 all i can eat... and there's crawfish???? Oh man, I might run them out of business soon... |

I recently moved back here after 4 years (and one hurricane) in Nola. I have been CRAVING gumbo, etouffe, and shrimp creole. I could make these things, but slaving over a roux for 30 minutes is kind of a pain. Anyone know where to get any of this? I've heard of Boudreaux's, but I'm hesitant to try louisiana food outside of LA until a foodie gives me the go ahead! |

Restaurants near Kauffman Stadium, KC I second the LC's reccomendation, especially if you're looking for ribs or burnt ends. I know it looks a little shady from the outside, but the best BBQ places always do! |

Kansas City area- looking for the little places In Lenexa at 87th and Monrovia (just off I-35) there is a hole in the wall mediterranian (sp?) place called Holy Land Cafe. The Shwarma is amazing, lunch is insanely cheap ($6 for shwarma sandwich, salad and soda) |

I believe there is a Thai Place down there. I'm not sure if everyone in your party likes thai food, but they will make it spicy to order (i like spice, but i do NOT reccomend surpassing the "medium" level... ever... its ridiculous) and there are lots of vegetarian options, it was one of my favorite places to go during my vegetarian phase |

Any good sushi recommendations in KC area? I moved back here from NOLA not too long ago, I know how you feel about missing really fresh fish. I've tried a few (well, several) sushi restaurants here and in lawrence and this is what i've got for you: I'm def. looking for good raw sushi nearer to corporate woods, 1-435/ US 69 or in Lenexa near 87th... I get tired of driving 30 minutes to Jun's |
