I'm looking for a rec (preferably but not necessarily in/near the French Quarter) for a good spot to watch a 7pm football game for a big group that wants something better than pub food, or at least wants good pub food. Any recs?

Looking for something relatively informal and fit for conversation. Boss is treating and don't want to break the bank.

Visiting for long w/e with wife. Looking for something outdoors and cozy, any pesc-friendly menu, in Hollywood/west hollywood for tonight. Broad request, but pls give your fave within the criteria. Much tx.

For dinner/drinks tonight, meeting the following criteria:

Pescetarian-friendly dinner or bar menu;
Outdoor seating;
Not unreasonably-priced beer;
Dupont/Logan/U St/Foggy Bottom

What, if any, classic American diners are there in DC (and surrounding)? I know there's "The Diner," but it's not exactly classic.

Also, as a point of comparison, we were thinking about 10 Downing and La Grenouille, but can't get a table for 6 at either on this short notice.

So my sister and I were planning to treat my parents to a celebratory dinner this coming Saturday, 3/20. Our original plans fell through, and now we are scrambling for a new option. Please do not criticize my lack of detail -- I know I can get killed on Chowhound for vagueness, so I'm trying my best to be clear about what matters.

Criteria (from most to least important):

1. Available (if it's on Opentable, that's a good sign -- we're looking for 3/20 at 8 or 8:30)
2. Good energy -- we like to converse, so not too noisy, but we're also not a rowdy group and will benefit from a room with a lot of buzz.
3. Ambiance = simple elegance. They would be fans, for instance, of wooden farm-style tables.
4. Good service -- it's for their anniversary, so hitting the right notes on service will be important.
5. Italian, French or American baseline cuisine. Food should also be slightly inventive (they eat out a lot and will appreciate a classic dish prepared with fresh and familiar ingredients in a novel way) but not "out there." It goes without saying that if you're recommending it, you personally like it.
6. Manhattan (east side preferred) or Brooklyn.
7. Cost is not a huge issue, but I would say we don't want to spend more than $100/pp total (inc. tax/tip/wine) for six people.

None matter -- this is a very flexible group. The entertainment aspect -- coupled with good, well-prepared food -- is the thing.

Suggestions are very welcome.

I'm looking for suggestions for a place to celebrate my law school graduation (in May) with my out-of-town family. Big group. Something not too "stuffy" with good atmosphere/ambiance. Boston or Cambridge. Wanted to do East Coast Grille but they don't take reservations for Friday nights. Other ideas that might have a similar "feel?"

What do people think of Les Zygomates for this? Cool wine bar feel. The other place that comes to mind is Blue Room, which I was just at for a private function and it worked out fairly well.

We've done Sel de la Terre not too long ago, but we do love it.

Other ideas?

Ah - for dinner, midweek.

Location - anywhere in Boston or Cambridge is fine. The mention of tapas because that seems to be the default answer for groups. And forget the $$ - good food for the value is all that matters!
