What is it that really turns your stomach?

A variation, nothing to do with food I hope... if an eraser on a pencil is worn down to the metal on paper. oh god no. no nononononono. I can't be in the room.

Pretty sure it was Shelly. She told Christina Tosi that she originally wanted to do mango and coconut, but was worried about cutting it, so switched to strawberries and chocolate. Then presented a vanilla cream custard. Maybe there was chocolate on the bottom?

I think it is significant that the mother while writing her "explanation" put in all the events, even her husband's prior work but left out the fact there were more in her party. Coupled with, makes it more likely in my opinion that the adults were chatting and trying to have an adult conversation and ignoring the child which matches the restaurant's take on events

I think someone predicted this "send noone home" ending on the other thread last week. I would have been more impressed if he had sent both the guys home. Heck send Shelley home too, her tart didn't seem that much worse than the guys. Still wondering where the chocolate went....

I've gotten slightly more tolerant of runny yolks as I've gotten older. But I still don't want to eat one.

I believe they were told due to the small grill that the 3 large pancakes would be a longer wait than other options. I believe wait times are why most parents bring snacks and toys for their toddlers like cheerios.
Read Marcy's diner post this morning on Facebook. Interesting that there were 3 adults and one child dining, not just coast guard hubby and wife and child. That's never mentioned in the mom's post.

Masterchef U.S. 7-22-2015 spoilers

Catching up on last night's masterchef. Well for once, the editing monkeys fooled me. I was sure when Hetal's team kept doing horribly throughout the challenge, that of course it would mean they would turn it around and win. Surprisingly, for once, the team that had their stuff together from the beginning wound up winning it handily. Hetal's pretty much to blame for this one from the start. She handed Katrina some of the best chefs on a platter, then gave them New York Strip. Sure, I love hanger steak, but New York is easily recognizable for most diners. I was also impressed this was the first episode where Katrina actually seemed like a super confident leader and chef. Was a nice change from crying break-down Katrina. Starting to maybe see a little of what the judges have been seeing in her.

During the pressure test, I'm not sure why they showed Shelly cooking with chocolate. I didn't see any chocolate in her final product.

Exactly what dmjordan posted above. You learned your manners at home at the dinner table. Sure, crying is going to happen, they are little kids. So take them outside or leave.

Mommy sounds oblivious. Her "antsy" and "Fussing" was apparently annoying enough to get the chef's attention. Reads like a very self-serving entitled view. I'm sure she's embarrassed to be called out for not being a responsible parent.

That's why you leave them at home instead of inflicting them on the rest of us until they understand not to bawl and make scenes as part of their skill set.

On a side note to your side note, they asked them to take the kid out. they refused. they asked them to leave. they refused.

If you're making $15 an hour, I see no reason to tip.

The one other thing, from watching too many fish processing videos... is I have a horror of finding a big parasite in fish flesh.

What food or snacks do you have hidden ?

I'm single, but have a boyfriend that is at my house a significant amount of the time. He generally buys the snacks and drinks that he prefers, so it's not an issue. He does apparently have no qualms about eating the last slice of pizza in the box, tho.... will have to work on that

What is it that really turns your stomach?

I'm a sympathy puker, so seeing or hearing someone vomit will get me going. I've discovered lately that TV shows and movies seem to be showing more puking on screen... even that will make me start gagging. (Picking up after a cat or dog pukes on the floor, however, doesn't bother me at all.)

The other thing that will get a gag and or vomit out of me is textural... specifically biting into something (say like in a sandwich or a casserole) I'm not expecting. Hidden pickles, bell peppers, olives, tomatoes, big chunks of raw onion (not so much anymore) all have to be discreetly and quickly slipped into a napkin as if I try to make it go down, it will be coming up. However, I can eat a pickle just fine with no gag if I eat it separately. Weird.

Master chef 7/15/15 *spoiler*

There seems to be a lot less of the fake drama and fighting this season than the previous season. I know they got a lot of comments on master chef junior U.S. how much people liked how the kids all supported each other. Made they decided to edit along that route this year to see if it worked. The last real snottiness was the Tommy/Katrina kerskuffle what, 4-5 episodes back?

And Shelly gets a pass again. It's getting old.
And as much as I like Claudia and would like her to move on.... was I the only one that wanted Gordon to cut right into the middle of that giant pork chop and by the bone, instead of taking a tiny sliver off the tiniest end?

Masterchef USA 7-8-15 spoilers

That's why i find it hard to buy as well. That plus, like in a cake challenge they have a tray of ingredients already set out exactly the same for every chef. What if I memorized a recipe that had other ingredients? Maybe the editing elves made them sign some form requiring them to say no recipes. (I could buy that). Or maybe they really did switch up the rules and inform them ahead of time they had to memorize recipes. I just find that hard to believe.

Regarding the two dishes made on master chef. I don't recall Ramsay's beef wellington having prosciutto and a crepe in it, just the beef, duxelles, pastry. Not really sure the purpose of the crepe.

Katrina got a gift that Kerry plated less than she did. Even her cooked quail eggs were way overcooked. And enough with the crying. That said, I think Masterchef U.S. is trying to go a little more like Masterchef U.S. Jr., other than a few bitchy comments early on, the contestants have seems really supportive of each other.
