Hell's Kitchen winner-Spoiler

The thing I liked about Scott is that even tho he had a lot of screw ups early on, he was always very supportive of his fellow contestants. How many times did we see him hugging and encouraging teammates, even when he was on the women's team and they were out to get him? He seems like a mature, class act.

NBC's Food Fighters?

I don't think there is any way she really "won" over Lorena with her burnt black salmon. I also don't know why any professional chef would go on this show and risk being judged by who knows who against a random home cook.

Hell's Kitchen winner-Spoiler

In HK I don't think there is the big delay between the competition and the finale like there is in Top Chef where everyone goes home for like a month and can study and prepare before coming back to an exotic location. So, I'm guessing all the contestants are already there sequestered in the hotel so as to not give away the winner. I would imagine they sign off on the finale in their contract and get some sort of time/appearance fee.

NBC's Food Fighters?

I also didn't think the home chef was very gracious on rounds where she lost compared to the graciousness of the professional chefs. Kind of a cry baby.

NBC's Food Fighters?

I'm watching it on line now. So far, it is pretty much horrid. I'll watch it at least until Marcel comes on. That's it. Won't watch it again.

The question I'm always left with... is how do they pick the chefs that come back to be part of the brigade? Joy was noticeably absent. ... I also didn't remember Chris at all.

Hell's Kitchen spoilers 7/17/2014 semi final

Here is the description on amazon
Celebrity Chef Anton Testino is a world renowned culinary chef and a first-generation Italian-American. Born to immigrant parents, he was practically raised in the food industry, learning to cook at the age of 6 by working in family owned restaurants. Despite having been diagnosed with ADHD and Dyslexia at an early age, Chef Anton was admitted to the Culinary Institute of America, winning several professional cooking competitions before appearing on the Food Network's reality cooking show "Chopped". His appearance on the reality show has been the source of great controversy and debate, resulting in “When Octopuses Attack” becoming one of the most popular and re-played episodes of Chopped to air on the Food Network of all time.

sounds kind of interesting.

Good luck to both tonight. BTW, Chef Anton just published an autobiographical cookbook. ACtually looks kind of interesting.

Master Chef 7/21 (SPOILERS)

Joe actually has several cooking demos online. Of course he's won a James Beard award for outstanding restaurteur and kind of turned his life around from just going out and drinking/eating, and becoming more healthy. He also has a great TV presence. I wouldn't call him a chef, but I don't think he calls himself a chef. He's certainly no hack. I'd enjoy spending a day around him learning the business.

Master Chef 7/21 (SPOILERS)

I don't care for Aryan, and I know things have changed a lot since I was her age, but I don't think I ever opened a wine bottle until I was away from home in college. (And the first few were Boone's Farm). I see no shame in that.

Gawker tests TGIF's unlimited appetizers

I would think before embarking on such an experience it would be good to go ahead of time and sample potential appetizers. I, for one, love Mozz cheese sticks, but couldn't imagine eating more than one order. And if they were nasty ones, not even that. I'm going to agree with people that suggested other items that might have, say, a little more fiber to them. Or not so one-dimensional tasting.

I was impressed Cutter didn't lose his cool. It seemed like the judges were really trying to goad him into a fight many times during both the cooking and the judging.

Banquet dinner options--how to choose what to eat?

How do you pick one? What mood will you be in? It's a wedding! Who really cares about the food! You can get whatever you want to eat on the drive home.

Banquet dinner options--how to choose what to eat?

I don't usually go to weddings for the food. I'd pick meat because I like meat. Guess if it had bleu cheese I could scrape it off.

Well that's not who I expected to see going into the final. I wasn't impressed with Scott early in the competition, but I'd say he's the one to beat now. He either had a very shaky start or was playing one hell of a game.

Hair found in the food...

okay a BUNCH of hairs would be a deal killer for me. One hair... things happen. Not that big a deal. A numerous strands in the food? Um. No. Something different is going on rather than just bad luck ... sounds more like employee sabotage. I cook in a house with my hair and a dog and a cat that are shedders. Hair happens. I'm super diligent and don't think I've ever served up any hair (probably have) but I know I've caught a stray hair before something went into a pan or the oven.
