Gordan Ramsey's Restaurant in West Hollywood?

We ended up dining here, the bill was over $500 for two, we did leave satisfied. Starting the night off over some of their signature martini's in the bar. My favorite was the "English Rose" at $15 a pop, while listening to a beautiful live lounge singer. Then we were seated and our food experience began. Each dish we had we had them split the portions in half for my colleague and I to both enjoy & try a variety of dishes. First dish was the Char grilled Octopus salad which was very tender and cooked just right. Second course was the Risotto with mushrooms topped with a fried shrimp's head (similar to when you order sweet shrimp at a Sushi Bar) it was divine. Third course was the black cod in a miso sauce, we loved it. From there we had a side of the roasted cauliflower you dip in a mint yogurt which cleansed our pallet. Now for our final dish, Gordon Ramsey's signature dish the Beef Wellington, 4 slices for $100 which melted in your mouth. For dessert we tried a chocolate roll and the sticky toffee pudding. Was really looking forward to this dessert just was the one thing which didn't stand up to par. After dinner we checked out the amazing club on the roof and pool party. Was a wonderful evening and the London Hotel is a hidden gem!

Gordan Ramsey's Restaurant in West Hollywood?

For a business dinner tonight, we wanted to dine at Hell's Kitchen. It seems the only location by Gordon Ramsey is in the London West Hotel on San Vicente. We made reservations for this evening. Any must try dishes? Would love some feedback for this evening-Thank you in advance

Best hard tacos?

This is my neighborhood too, Valley Village, you will thank me once you try these hard shell tacos at El Taco Loco on Laurel Canyon & Chandler. I order their 3 King size hard tacos al pastor, my photo will speak for me. It's the only thing I order here over and over

Sattdown Jamaican Grill (Studio City)

Here's my input, just gave it a try and tried a variety of dishes. Upon sitting down I was looking forward to a beef patty, though they were already sold out and I ended up with a Jerk Chicken Patty (See photo) to start with, it was tasty and I would try the beef flavor next visit. For my entree I chose the combo, 1/2 Oxtail & 1/2 Goat Curry, both had a lot of bones which is to be expected just the pay off was they packed a lot of flavor which went great combined with the red beans & rice. The plantains were very thin which I would of enjoyed cut a bit thicker. Overall, this dish was delicious and I would get a full plate of Oxtail in the future. Now for dessert, I was eagerly awaiting this bread pudding all night. The owners wife who was the waitress was nice enough to bring out her husband Chef Tony. He informed me they were out of this dish and convinced me to try the Rum Cake which filled the spot. I shall return to give this spot another try. I will say I left hungry and had to stop at Dupar's for my Bread Pudding craving which I took home.

Grimaldi's Pizza in El Segundo Review:

Was in El Segundo for a business meeting and would of been caught in rush hour traffic if I drove straight home. Therefore I planned to have a dinner at Grimaldi's, after hearing about this Brooklyn institute coming to LA. I had to try it. My server Alejandro was very helpful in introducing the menu to me. I went with a Small pepperoni Pizza with half sausage & half bacon, with a wheat beer to start. Out comes my hot pizza and boy was it tasty and I have half saved for tomorrow. I then met the manager Jesus who showed me photos of the original location under neath the Brooklyn bridge, always a pleasure hearing stories from people who take pride in their restaurant's history. He convinced me to try a Canoli and it was one of the best I've had, that is on the West Coast. Next time I'm in this city I will make it a regular visit

La Ventura-Studio City (new Mexican Restaurant)

A friends and I dined here last night and I wasn't impressed at all. Sure to the couples who stick with locations right on the blvd. you might like it. Knowing there are so many better Mexican restaurants off the blvd, this just didn't kick it for me. We started with a couple margarita's, they come on the rocks only, zero blended drinks. If you want chips & salsa, you will be charged. We gave it a try, both the 3 salsas and the guacamole, the chips were thick like the ones you buy at Vallarta and the salsa & guac just didn't stand out for us. I was hoping to try the Calamari tacos, this was already dropped from the menu. Instead I went with the Al Pastor tacos since I'm a sucker when carved from the spit with pineapple. What can I say, 90% of the trucks out there are better, tacos were small portions on the meat and I left unhappy. For 2 our meal was a little over $50, I wont return....Out take Bistro was much better.

Spitz Studio City (Donar Kebob-now open)

My apologies, I was so excited to finally have a Turkish Donar spot in my area I jumped the gun. I should have tried this first before posting. Well, I just returned from trying their street cart Donar which tasted nothing like the authentic ones you would get in Europe and a side of street cart fries which was just a mess of heaping topping over fries, disgusting. Long story short, I shall not return.

Spitz Studio City (Donar Kebob-now open)

I noticed Spitz did their soft opening last week. I haven't had a good Donar Kebob since my travels to Berlin, Germany

Will be a great addition to the neighborhood, this is on my list to try.

Would love to hear what others say if they've tasted so far?

Chinatown-L.A. Best Spots for Dim Sum & Bars:

I understand Dim Sum is considered a breakfast by Asian customs. Our visit will be as a lunch and to enjoy a couple daytime drinks and take it from there, will be a nice time.

Can anybody share spots they love for this tasty appetizer, Toasted Ravioli's?

Duna Csardas for Hungarian?

The owner owns numerous properties in the Hollywood Hills. Each time I would dine here it's always empty too. I think he keeps it open for him & his wife to have a hang out spot and enjoy the piano and comfort of their own place. He even prints his own hungarian newspaper each week too. Very interesting...

Moving to Studio City

You are correct, Kung Pao Bistro was replaced by Take a Bao not much of a fan of Take a Bao except for their carmalized asian wings which are simply addictive and a must try, everything else I can do without.

Cookin with Lenny's Smokehouse BBQ (Valley Spot)

April 5th and we just returned here for a lunch meal, it was outstanding, see photos, I cant rave enough about Krystal our waitress too, amazing customer service & a pleasant woman all around. She's also one of the waitresses that gets up and sings with Lenny's band. We started with this shrimp appetizer dish & bread you dip in the sauce, heaven! For my meal I had to go with the Whisky ribs again, fall off the bone and the glaze is enough, no need to add any sauces, give it a try! Stuart

Cafe De Mexico-Sherman Oaks

I just returned for a 2nd time, this time during Happy Hour for the $2 taco price and loved it. This is definitely my new local go to spot. Plus I was able to try the complimentary chips & salsa this time when eating there. The chips were the way I like them, a little thicker and had a wonderful seasoning. The salsa had a nice kick to it too. Happy to have this spot in our area now.

Cheers,

Stuart ;.)
