Providence Restaurant-Melrose-1st Time Visit:
Tell me more on what to get for ala carte since we might go that route? Friends say the foie gras is a must and scallop dishes?
Providence Restaurant-Melrose-1st Time Visit:
I viewed the menu, the Sea Urchin & Lobster pasta looks amazing! I've heard about their scallops too, can't wait.
Providence Restaurant-Melrose-1st Time Visit:
Really looking forward to my first dining experience at Providence.
Any suggestions on dishes that are a must order or go with the tasting menu?
We're starting the evening off with drinks & 1 appetizer at Mozza then head to our dinner at Providence.
Would love some input?

Stuart
Dave & Romero's Texas Best BBQ-Studio City/Sherman Oaks
I went for the Beef ribs which were quite tasty, though I prefer pork of the two. I also had the tri-tip which was cooked perfectly. The owner gave me a taste of both the chicken & pork links which both had a nice snap to them. For my sides I chose the potatoe salad & baked beans, both quite tasty. Next time I will try the garlic potatoe slices and maybe some bbq asparagus. The owner was raving about the pasta salad dish just cooked too. They are out nightly, not just weekends.
Dave & Romero's Texas Best BBQ-Studio City/Sherman Oaks
Just stumbled upon some amazing BBQ, these guys setup daily 3-8pm daily in the parking lot of a small grocery store on the corner of Moorpark & Coldwater.
I met the owner Dave just now after having my meal, these guys are pit master TX champions cooking on those big cookers you see on cookout shows.
You choose your meats and sides and its all to go for $15.00
I shall return, here's some photos I just took too.

Loteria Grill Now Open in the Westlake Village Promenade
Are you serious? I How can you say such a thing? Loteria is more on the gourmet side of Mexican cuisine, their food is amazing. Their dozen taco sampler, bite size, 12 different tacos is a wonderful sensation to the taste buds, half meat-half vegetarian. My favorite though are their mole enchiladas, plus their hominy soup is to die for!
Best place you ate at this week?
Tried the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich at Boo's in Hollywood on Fountain. This was the closest true Philly sandwich I've had yet in LA, tried it with half provolone & half cheese whiz. The bread was perfect too. Definitely would try this again!
Dinner Suggestions? Staying Downtown LA?
Thank you Yogachik, your suggestions look perfect!
Dinner Suggestions? Staying Downtown LA?
My friend is staying a weekend at the Biltmore Hotel-downtown Los Angeles.

Would love some suggestions for:
-any Asian food (Love Chinese/Thai)
-Mexican
-Italian (from Pizza to a good Veal Parm)
-Burgers
-Breakfast
-or just anything that's great you can suggest?
Average priced meals is what we're after for a few dinners.
Thank you,

Berlin Restaurant Trip Review:
We dined at Filetstueck and wasn’t impressed at all, the interior is very casual with the meats hanging from the ceiling.
Very nice staff that works there, we ordered the Irish cut of steak which was very fatty and my friend had the filet which was nice.
We also tasted one each of all the sides which we weren’t impressed by.
Plus the dessert was so bad we had to send it back.
For a more creative evening we dined at “Sage Restaurant”
www.sage-restaurant.de
This is a very hip spot, almost like a nightclub in an old warehouse turned into a creative spot to eat.
We started with the tuna tar tar and soup, both delicious.
For our meal we had lamb and white fish, the dishes were wonderful.
The table next to us had the weinershintzel which I wish I tried.
While in Pottsdam Platz, in the Sony Center we discovered a spot where they brew their own beer.
It was my favorite beer of the trip:
LindenBrau
www.lindenbraeu-berlin.de
we also had some wonderful sausages while there too
Later that evening we had an exquisite meal in this area called:
Lutter & Wegner
Bellevuestrasse 1 10785 Berlin-Mitte
030/26390372
The wienerzshintzel was delicious here as well as our wine, appetizers and dessert
My favorite new dish during this trip was the pork knuckle with boiled potatoes & saukrat, a true treat.
The pork was cooked for 3-4 hours and fell off the bone...
Stout Burgers coming to Studio City
When I heard Studio City, the 8 1/2 Taverna spot was what came to mind, that would be a terrific spot
Stout Burgers coming to Studio City
Just heard about this, so pleased since the Hollywood location is a great bar with sensational food.
Love the 6 weeker burger, onion rings to the bread pudding.
I wonder where the location shall be?

Your knowledge is amazing, so informative, greatly appreciate this.
After reading this pick above I just booked an extra night to stay in Berlin. I get one choice, looking at the menu on "Jolesch & Mitterhofer" website looks delicious. Plus you suggest the pig roast which I love!

Sushi House of Taka on Van Nuys Blvd Review/Photos
Loved this spot last week, had to return again today, here's 3 more photos to share with you:
-My Live Shrimp before he entered my belly
-Yellow tail Belly
-Stuffed Squid with Crab
So good...
Fried Chicken Spot in North Hollywood?
I just gave Otis Jackson's Soul Dog a try for dinner. Even spoke with the staff that told me they read the reviews on here. They took some of the salt out of the chicken to please these comments. Today was my first try, the chicken was very good, quite moist and lots of flavor. The mac n Cheese had a smokey flavor which I enjoyed too. Only downfall were the greens which were beyond salty. I went for the chicken and that was something I did enjoy. I would try it again, when in the area.
Quick trip to Berlin on a budget: Can you please review my choices and suggest others?!

I love how they serve the beers in traditional cups too, this photo is during my visit to "Henne" if the Bird (Chicken) is the same spot your referring to?
Sushi House of Taka on Van Nuys Blvd Review/Photos
Some friends & I just returned from a dinner at Sushi House of Taka.
I forgot how good this spot was, haven't been in a while since I've been going to Chiba or Katsu Ya
This is a hidden gem, a no thrills looking spot just the sushi and prices are to your advantage.
I pigged out and my bill was only $44 + 10 tip, had to bring some home too.
Started with:
-Yellow Tail Belly (the 2 cuts are so big they cut your 2 pieces into 4)
-Tuna Sushi (was next yum!) was tempted to order the Toro Tuna
-Blue Crab Hand Roll (the thing was the size of a snow cone, 100% real crab no filler)
-the guy next to me had the same but in a Spicy Tuna Roll
Then I had their Santa Barbara Live Sweet Shrimp that he brought out kickin and all, as fresh as you can get.
When ordering this they give you a portion raw and he carved its eggs on top, mouthwatering.
Then the head gets fried and you dip in a good sauce.
From there I had a Relative Roll which is spicy tuna inside and albacore on the outside, by this time I was stuffed.
Took a bite and brought the rest home.
I didn't even get to try other suggestions like the Stuffed Squid, Yellowtail Collar, Uni, and other rolls.
Give it a try,
Stuart :>)

You sure are an amazing help, I just made reservations for a few of these spots and will share my experiences with you.
For Filetstueck, you said a new location is near my hotel, which location would that be below:
Schönhauser Allee 45, Berlin - 030 48820304
or
Uhlandstraße 156, Berlin - 030 54469640
El Katracho (Review-Sherman Oaks)
I am so glad I found this spot, its simply delicious.
I've gone 5 times this past month, Honduras cuisine.
As your seated your brought a plate of complimentary chips, not the ordinary chips at Mexican restaurants, rather home made thick cut tortilla chips with an amazing south american cheese topped with a hot sauce.
So far as appetizers I've tried:
-the Sweet Corn Tamale $2.50 to die for, comes with a sour cream type of sauce you can dip it in
-a Baleadas which is their traditional dishes, I had one as an appetizer with meat $3.00, very tasty
For my main meal, in my opinion its all about the soups. I've had the:
-beef soup ($9.50) and delicious flavors
&
-Conch & Shrimp Soup $17.50 also nice, I would stick with the beef
They have incredible margaritas as well as beer from their country to fruit water drinks.
Give it a try,
Stuart :>)

One last question, a suggestion in my area that's Italian, just good food. I'm not after a fancy spot with small portions and the plate looks like a work of art. I'm after good tasting nice size portions?
Thank you,

I did discover a nice Malaysian meets Thai food restaurant while walking around last year in Berlin. I will return and suggest others to try it, called "MIRCHI" & "AMRIT", its 2 restaurants connected, one is Indian cuisine, other is what I described above.

and
www.mirchi.de
I noticed a Mexican restaurant around the corner as well.
It's steakhouses & spots for wine which I need to discover.
Thanks,
Stuart
