Last Minute Anniversary Trip to NYC

Try Toqueville- I second the per Se Salon rec. loved both. Bouchon Bakery for a casual lunch.

Iron Tomato - White Plains

Went today for lunch and it was amazing!!! Great salmon, eggplant, spinach salad. BAKED GOODS ARE AMAZING. DON'T MISS THE NUTELLA RUGELAH. Everything tastes as good ( or better) than it looks.

Two weeks in Buffalo

Shwabls in West Senca for beef on weck, Andersons ( multiple locations) for custard, Louies ( mult locations)& Teds for hot dogs, Antionettes for ice cream and candy. If you take a ride downtown, great farmers market on sat ( elmwood), try the white cow yogurt, also Coles ( bar & grill) on elmwood and fowlers candy- don't miss sponge candy. Have a great time.

Offer Input on my plan for next weekend in New Orleans

Just got back, Acme was on our always stop at list, not any more- long lines poor service, and mediocre food. Don't miss Domenica our new favorite!!! Loved Dantes kitchen and GW fins. Great drinks at the Sazerac Bar in the Roosevelt, Jim Was an outstanding bar person.

Is there ANY decent pizza on the UWS?!

My favorite!!!! The margherita is amazing.

Need the ambience says "Wow! We're not in Kansas anymore!"

How about Vietnamese in Chinatown, Nha Trang Centre is great, very informal, and if you go for dinner, probably not a zoo. ( Do they have vietnamese in Kansas?

Restaurant Week disappointment

Went to Cesca for dinner. A neighborhood place we have been meaning to try. The room is lovely, we were seated right away. Had to ask for the RW menu as did neighboring tables of people. The RW menu was rather boring, tried the soup, which was a tiny portion about 2- 3 ounces max. Risotto was okay, we saw 1 piece of calamari, could not identify any other seafood, fish was about a 2 inch square. It was way over peppered. Desserts were the highlight, a wonderful lemon tart and fruit. Service was very good. Because the RW menu and the RW week is supposed to introduce you to restaurants cesca failed in that it didn't provide a very good first impression.

Kummelweck rolls in Westchester?

Rockland bakery ( in nanuet) has some rolls that are pretty close, not sure what they are called, but they have the salt and caraway seeds. They are pretty good, but not kaufmans.

A sophisticated bar on the Upper West Side?

Went to Loi a few weeks ago, bar was pretty, but very quiet. Lincoln is very nice, so is telepan, awesome drinks.

Baby-friendly restaurant in UWS?

Loi is a great idea. Great food and accommadating. Bar area is very large, and would be fine for a time out if needed. There were many family groups when I was there last week ( mid- week) including several babies . Land marc would also be fine.

Just moved to Cortlandt Manor...

We revisited Brodies and Memphis Maes (croton) this weekend. Both were really good. ( they were off our list for a while)

Just moved to Cortlandt Manor...

some additions-
12 grqpes in Peeksill, great vibe, good food
Ruccis - Indian in the Beach Shopping Center, Peekskill, keeps on getting better.
Umani in croton fun, innovative
Delivery is limited to Pizza, & Chinese, Nonnas very good.

Big group on short notice? (But good, please)

low key New Year's Eve?

Loi is very good, the service is a bit spotty. Luxenbourgh and telepan should also suit your needs.Gastroarte is overrated, How about Ma Peche?

chinese food on christmas?

Is it popular? Or just in the states?

Thyme in Yorktown

We went last night with a living social cert, and you are right, the menu was boring. We went when it first opened, food was good, service very bad and no Amex. The certif.nand taking Amex did get us back. It was rather disappointing. Soup was wonderful, salad a few field greens with olive oil very boring. Steaks were ok, we are spoiled by NYC steaks, and there is no comparison. Despite waitress caim that we always cook our steak perfectly, med rare was mooing, and sent back. Sides ok, spinach very good, mashed were a step up from grocery store quality. Dessert was cheesecake or ice cream, which we don't eat, they subbed apple pie, which may have been from grandmas, rather gloppy and very sweet. Service was very bad. Waitress kept on disapearing and apologizing.we really want to like this place, it is so. Pretty, but I am not sure we will retu rn.

Husband is turning 50. Surprise black tie dinner party. Where?

Stumped! I’m trying to find a traditional French restaurant but…

Another vote for Tocqueville, our best diner of the year.

Dinner before the Paramount Center (Peekskill)

The service at Birdsall gives new meaning to pathetic. You may make it to the second 1/2 of the show. 12 grapes is getting better and better, they are adding new specials. music usualy starts later. Division is not good at all. Little Sorento is ok, and about a 10 minute ride, Thyme is the same distance , with mixed food and service. Zephs is very good, but you have to drive, and parking can gett a little crazy , it is much easier to park and eat before. Also- there is a new place can't remember the name with bar food across from Division, and Rubens for mexican on the same street. have fun
