We ate there tonight. The portions were big, and the taste was good. I'm not sure if it will become 'our' place, but it is worth going for another meal. I'm just not sure that the food was worth the price.

$21.95 for veal parmesan is ridiculous, unless you get enough for a week. This isn't a 5 star restaurant.

It's okay, but nothing special. I would suggest the Blue Bell Inn across the street. They have banquet rooms available and the food is much better.

One place you won't be able to shop anymore is SuperFresh. The company announced Thursday that they will be closing the store at Rtes 611 and 313.

I agree that Morton's is not worthy of the hype. I was extremely underwhelmed with my filet.

Since you know these places exist, tell us where they are, instead of just telling us they exist if you know where to look. I thought this site was supposed to help in finding new places, not just in telling people there are great places to eat if YOU know where to look.
Chains like Tx Roadhouse, Outback and Sullivan's serve a purpose, and while I enjoy the filet I order at places like the Blue Bell Inn and Wm Penn Inn, these are not the sort of places one can walk into while wearing t-shirts and jeans. The steaks at the chains are not dog food. I have rarely gotten a 'poor' piece of meat when I go there. Maybe in over 20 years, I have been the lucky guy who just happens to get the best steak in the box every visit, although I doubt it. I love filet, and I have been more disappointed in the places where the filet was suppose to be of a higher quality than in the places where I can go in a t-shirt and jeans.

Has anyone tried Tip O'Leary's? I pass it on Rte 3 next to Kohl's and I have wondered about this place. Thanks.

The guy paid cash and the manager had no ID. However, there was probably a reservation made, and if caller ID was available, the phone number may have been logged as well. Also, I doubt that the family walked to the restaurant, so at least one license plate would have been gotten.
As for the call being a low priority for the police, this is not necessarily true. In smaller towns where the police are not running from call to call, a call from a restaurant that a party is leaving without paying would most certainly bring a quick police response.

If you weren't in the party and actually sitting at the table, how do know exactly what was done and said and what wasn't? Did you see the bill and verify that nothing was deducted from it?

For someone who states that they get to know not only the staff of a restaurant, but the critters in the dumpster as well, I find it amusing that you don't know yourself well enough to not have to talk about yourself in the third person.
Now, that being said, I think the OP should have seeked out a manager, or at the very least, the host/hostess. I have been ignored at restaurants before, and when it happened, I let the manager be aware of it. Sometimes, I stayed and ate after my talk with the manager, other times, after speaking with the manager, I have still left.
One time at a chain steakhouse which I frequented often but didn't care if they shouted my name as I entered like they did to Norm on Cheers, I told the manager of being ignored and let her know that I didn't feel comfortable staying for my meal. She gave me a comp for my party to be used at a later date (there were 3 of us), which we did. The funny thing is that we left that restaurant and went to the same chain 20 minutes away. Some may say that was crazy, but I had had enough of being ignored and didn't want to eat inside that restaurant at that point. It's my German stubborness.

That's funny. I felt the same way when I wasted money on Steve's. Now that D's has been sold, let's see what happens to the place, whether it goes up, goes down, or remains the same.

I can't get a steak that is one big lump of meat you need to fight every time you take a bite. Dalessandro's works on the theory of the meat giving the sandwich taste, not the grease.
Fiesta and the Henry James are in Roxborough as well, just up the block.
Geno's sandwich is run of the mill, it's not the best, but there are worse places. The fact that he supports law enforcement as much as he does moves the needle to the point where I would recommend him, as long as the person is willing to try other places as well.
When I have been to Steve's, I have never seen them cook my sandwich to order. All I know is that the taste of the sandwich is lacking, I would rate Geno's above Steve's.

I've stated that I buy from Geno's. I mainly go to Dalessandro's, although they aren't as good as they once were. Fiesta and the Henry James offer a good steak as well.

I've had Steve's a few times. Each time has been worse than the last. I don't know what the fascination is with this place. I've had better sandwiches eating steakums.

If those are the only places you've tried cheesesteaks, you've done yourself a disservice.
I will buy a cheesesteak from Geno's, but that is because of his support of law enforcement.

If you are talking about mama's on Belmont, then unfortunately, it was one of theirs. Eat the wrapper, it'll go down easier, and be tastier than any actual food product from this establishment.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Mama's. The sandwich IS huge, but there is no flavor to it. If you do get a Mama's, throw the sandwich away and eat the wrapper, it'll taste better. Quantity does NOT equal quality.

I'll second both of these restaurants, but try Tamirindos on a Saturday for their free margaritas.
