New Wave for Gladstones??

The LA Times did not give Gladstones 3 stars. I think those are user reviews of the article itself.

The Times' website is so awful, I cannot find the last real review, but I think it got maybe 1/2 a star or possibly no stars at all.

Anyone been to Craft lately?

Still at the bottom of the hill. The food seemed to be either underseasoned or overseasoned. There was no communication between the kitchen and the servers as to what was out that night or how many orders of items were left. The deserts are nowhere near what they were and for some reason, the wine list was purged of anything reasonably priced. I believe the least expensive wine was $72 and there were maybe only 2 or 3 bottles under $100. If I was to go a next time I would bring my own wine.

Growlers: does anyone use them in LA?

Red Car Brewery in Torrance has them. Try the IPA.

Le Cirque Dress Code?

What is the general dress of the diners at Le Cirque? The Bellagio website says that the dress code is business casual, but as I sort through the internet results, it seems to have been downgraded from jackets and ties preferred, to jackets preferred, to the current business casual designation.

What do they really want and what will we feel comfortable in?

Wolfgang's Steakhouse-quick review

Went last night with the family to this Peter Luger's clone. Three orders of the Porterhouse for two. The steak was cooked perfectly and was the best steak I have had since Lugers, and this includes Mastros, Craftsteak, etc. (I have not been to Cut). For dry aged steak lovers, it was perfect.

Salads were okay, deserts were good, but nothing special. Sides of german potatoes and creamed spinach were good, but nothing special. Portions of the german potatoes were too salty, but I think that someone was remiss in stirring after salting it on the grill, as other portions were not.

Service was exemplary and if you go during restaurant week you can order wines off the restaurant week menu for a 20% discount. Also, the restaurant week menu looks good, but kind of misses the essence of the restaurant as you can't get the porterhouse.

All in all, a very good experience.

In Photos: Club 33, or, The "Secret" Restaurant at Disneyland

I have been there once on a corporate account, so I did not see the bill. However, I assume the $105 includes the park admission. So subtract a one day ticket from that amount for the cost of the meal? If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

where to find limited edition Jones Soda? or Dr Brown's Cel Ray Soda?

A few years ago my brother got some photos on the Jones' labels (you submit them on the website), so we ran all around LA trying to find who had the biggest selection. All I remember now is that the cafe in the Barnes and Noble at Westside Pavillion had a pretty good selection.

ISO of Clover-made Coffee in LA/OC

Kafe Neo has one in Long Beach. I have tried three different beans brewed with it and they were all fantastic in their own ways. I never thought I would describe a coffee as fruity.

Best Fish 'n Chips in LA?

Oh man, I haven't posted anything since the old site, but I had to get a new username/password just for this. Wait for it.... Water Grill (bar menu). No joke, no deconstruction/re-interpretation, just the best fish and chips I have ever had.
