A friend gave me this recipe and says it's SOOOO good and looks pretty too. I haven't tried to make it though, too many processed ingredients. I think Pemma is talking about the same thing.

So, I know this is a year later - but a bakery opened up in Vienna about a year ago called Sylva's Patisserie. We tried some of their mini desserts (Dulce de Leche was soooo good) and we ended up ordering a half sheet Tiramisu cake. We placed the order with Harry who was super friendly and ensured us it would be worth our money. Needless to say, the cake was gone in about 15 minutes! Even the scraps were scooped into a plate and enjoyed by someone who wanted seconds! I think this place may be better than Stella's and Classic Bakery in Maryland!!! Their cakes are so light, airy and moist.... Mmmm... can't wait to go back. Big props to Slyva's Patisserie!!!

Has anyone noticed a difference in the new coffeemate creamers? I started noticing a difference in December - more watery, less creamy, less flavor overall.... I usually buy Hazelnut or French Vanilla. I've tried International Delights flavors too, and those seem watery and unbearable to drink as well. I guess I'll be going back to frothed skim milk.

Wow, I have the same problem! My nose gets stuffy so quick, then I lose my sense of smell and then sneeze uncontrollably -- mostly with red wines. Are there any good steel-aged red wine recommendations? ... Thanks.

The TJ's grahams are sugary and cinnamony and oh so yummy. But Beware, I tried making a s'more in the microwave with a TJ's graham, piece of choco and marshmallow and burned my tounge since the sugar on the graham crystalized. -- So these bad boys are better to eat plain :)

The Super H and el Grande (both owned by Super H) in Merrifield have also gone down in quality over the last year or so. Their fruit seems old, lemons/lime barely have any juice, and vegetables tend to go bad... fast! I've started driving out to Wegmans in Fairfax again just because I think they have the most fresh fruit (crunch apples... mmm) and its reasonably priced.

Could you subsitute the tahini paste/seasame oil for olive oil, or is that a big no-no?

Minimum 65% cocoa, and that is easily accessible and not too expensive. A good one is Trader Joes 3-pk Belgian Dark Chocolate (~$2.00 for 3 bars). I also like Dove Dark Chocolate squares.... I haven't really tried the fancy stuff yet.

If you are craving something sweet - Faye 0% yougurt, mix in some splenda and cinnamon, add berries..... Awesome as a dessert too. Yum, I want some now!

A great grilled cheese with grated white cheddar & sharp cheddar on thick white bread and salty butter. On a rainy, cold day add a side of cream of tomato soup ..... heavenly.

We actually ended up at Rosa Mexicano at 9pm and there was a two hour wait! We ate at the bar, and the guac bowl was excellent... but our entrees were bleeeehhhhhh.... :(

Hi. I know this is a repetitive post, but we have family coming into town for one day, this Saturday from Philly and they want to go out to a trendy, fun atmosphere, people-watching, good-place-for drinks kind of place. Food isn't the main focus atmosphere and location is (although I want yummy food!).

Most don't eat seafood - so all seafood-heavy restaurants are out. Also, we need to find a place that can accomodate 3 couples for tomorrow night. If you have any suggestions please let me know. Thanks Chowhound friends!

I have some frozen turkey breast, and I've frozen it, thawed it, frozen and thawed it again yesterday. Do you think it's still good? How many times can I freeze-thaw-freeze-thaw-freeze? Help!?!
