OTTO is close and a great place for very moderate Italian.

Romantic spot for Christmas dinner

Bouley & Danuce would both be terrific meals and are open on Christmas. They have the same chef/owner, David Bouley. Not sure if they would be "cozy" but they are romantic. Downside is they are big bucks.... Good Luck.

Best macaroni and cheese in NYC

It's not in NYC but a few minutes away... Marco and Pepe in Grove Street Jersey City. Overal a great place but the mac and cheese is amazing, worth a trip by itself honestly. Its made with Orecchiette, hint of truffle oil, little Lardon, just perfect. About 5 minute walk from Grove St PATH station.

BLT Prime or David Burke & Donatella?

I need help choosing between the two for a Friday evening. I have never been to either and have heard great things about both. My concern is the noise level @ BLT Prime and location of DB&D. I really need a great meal, impressive surroundings and great service.
Any and all thoughts are welcome, thank you!
