Help with pea sprouts - too tough
Is there anything I can do with a batch of pea sprouts that are a bit older?
They came in my organic vegetable box last week, I sauteed with garlic & oil, hoping for the delicious, soft greens we get at Ton Kiang. Instead they were tough - completely inedible.
I got the same bunch in this week's box. Can I do anything differently?
TIA
Best Chili Recipe
my recipe is almost exactly like this, with the addition of 1/3 - 1/2 can of beer. It cooks off and adds a nice tangy flavor.
Nick's Cove in Marshall
Went to Nick's last night, overall it was a good night. I liked the decor and setting. Service was very good, cocktails and wine selection above average. Food, however, was mixed. Shrimp cocktail and BBQ oysters were perfect, really nice. Grilled romaine also tasty. Sardines, meh. Papardelle was ok, nothing special, but fine.
They were full by the time we left, around 7:30.
Balancing foodie grandparents and small baby
I don't have a specific suggestion, but as a veteran parent I need to say that almost everywhere will be fine if you go earlyish and if your baby is well-behaved. With my firstborn at that age we had many a dinner at some nicer establishments in SF at 5:30 or 6:00. We had great luck and were pleasantly surprised by how welcoming most places were.
(wait until the toddler years, that's a whole 'nother story)
