SF BBQ News!
I walked past it today, and did a double-take... never had heard of it before and the sign did say "open", although it looked a little constructiony still inside, strange for being open for a while. Sadly had just had a bite to eat, otherwise would have stopped in. Yelp reviews seem mixed.
Ferry Plaza vs. Whole Food to buy local food
Other gourmet markets... you must try Bi-Rite then. It's just as expensive as WF though. Rainbow Grocery is good for non-meat based products.

Italian meatballs
Pasta Gina in Noe Valley has the best take out meatballs in town. They also make a mean meatball sandwich. Actually, just thinking about it is making me seriously consider going and getting one now.

Very funny. Had me going for a second there... "Inghiliterra".... oh yes :-)
Peanut Butter Ice Cream
BiRite Creamery had PB&J ice cream the other day when I was there. Didn't try it though.
Steak Tartare?
I second this... very, very good. Piment d'esplette is a fine addition.
Best Butcher/Meat Market in SFBay?
Yes, I agree. As someone who lives in the 'hood, I want to love them, but just can't. I've had bad experiences like special ordering a pheasant, having them lose the order, then finding a god-knows-how-old frozen one in back to give me. Also, my wife is unhappy with them after a 2 hour wait to pick up our turkey before last xmas - they were so unorganized. I'm hitting Buy-Rite more too now.
Authentic Neapolitan Style Pizza
You might want to try La Ciccia in Noe Valley. Really good pizza (try the Sardo) although they generally only have a couple on the menu.

You could also try Contigo. After all, it gets five stars on Yelp!
(Sorry, bad local humour here... but really do try it... if it is open yet that is :-)

Probably Toast for pancakes would be your best bet in NV. Either the new one on 24th or the original on Church.

And I'd like to fourth this recommendation. La Ciccia is amazing. Funny thing... it you call to take out, they want to know where you live because they won't serve you certain dishes if you live too far away (luckily we don't) because they need to be eaten right away.

Hey, the Ferry Building has the singing cowboy out back
Bordeaux Style Blends - Napa Valley
You might want to try the Meritage Association's list:

Galette de Rois?
We tried Boulange's a couple of years ago and it was tasty, but somehow not quite up to snuff from the ones we used to get in Paris (oh, Laduree) , but my one gripe was it was missing "la fève".
Where can I find the best Gyros in San Francisco?
I'm kind of a fan of the Gyro King in the Civic Center. It's worth a try.

Where can I buy Smoked Albacore in SF
I'm pretty sure Cap'n Mike's at the Ferry Plaza farmers market on Sat has smoked albacore. Just checked his website at http://www.holysmokedsalmon.com and it says he does, but it is "seasonal".
Best Butcher in San Francisco?
I'll second or third Golden Gate Meat at the ferry building, and Bi-Rite. I also really like Prather ranch, who sells both at the ferry building or at the Noe Valley farmers market every second Saturday, however much of their meat is frozen.
I also like the venerable Drewes Brothers in Noe Valley

Need a REALLY amazing, young, trendy restaurant to host 22nd birthday for a gorgeous girl!!
How about supperclub ( www.supperclub.com ). I know it will get some boos around here, but it's certainly hip and fun.
Thomy Mustard Wanted
Lehr's definitely has Thomy mustard and remoulade (in the tube just like toothpaste).
