Niagra Falls
Falls Manor has glorious fried chicken. I know several people who drive from Toronto to the Falls just for this chicken. I can't speak for anything else on their menu, but their chicken is a thing of beauty and it haunts my dreams.

ISO The Best Chinese Rice in TO
My family's been buying Ox Head for years. I have also seen it on sale at No Frills and sometimes at Costco.
Schwepps- Bitter Lemon?
There is a PC brand soda called 'Splendido Lemon Frizzante' that has that bitter quinine / lemon taste as well:

Frozen, grated cassava (yucca) in GTA with parking??
Practically all Asian groceries should carry fresh cassava. You can freeze and grate it yourself if necessary.

I second your recs for WOW and Deluxe Noodles!
In the Chinese plaza at 888 Dundas, I like Thanh Son Tofu for tofu takeout. Fresh fresh tofu and various Vietnamese desserts. Best Friend Restaurant in the same plaza is also good.
For the last few months I have been consistently craving the chicken at Silva's Barbecue at Tomken and Rathburn. They have both grilled and rotisserie chicken there, and great sauce.

Your favorite non-commercial peanut butter available in the GTA?
Yeah, I'm a big fan of the PC Just Peanuts one.
Sukhothai in Mississauga?
It's really good! I liked their green curry and coconut rice. Pad thai was tasty too, no ketchup.
Don't know if it's related to the downtown Sukhothai.

sweet thai basil seeds?
I've bought them in Mississauga before at what's now the BTrust. I can't believe T&T doesn't have them. It doesn't strike me as a rare item -- you should be able to find this all over Chinatown. Maybe try a Vietnamese-run shop?
Wedding Venue help needed... PLS
I went to a wedding at Roma's Place last year but I don't remember what I ate. :) So it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either.

Best Friend Restaurant in that mall is good and not at all sketchy.
Growing your own hot chilis
I'm also in zone 6. We grow them in pots -- they live outside in the summer and come in for the fall/winter.

I had the pulled pork there and thought it was pretty good: plenty smoky, quite sweet.
Within walking distance from the Art Gallery of Ontario?
You can get all sorts of crepes at the Art Square Cafe right across the street from the AGO.
What's Your Favorite Chinese Take Out Order
A place in China. I like this type of rice because it's not so heavy on the soy sauce.

What's Your Favorite Chinese Take Out Order
beef & bitter melon
yeung chau fried rice with salted fish
deep fried squid with salt & pepper
chicken, duck and salty egg congee
Breyer's ice cream quality (split from Ontario board)
Yeah, I never did like Breyers, but they've become especially terrible now. I like Stoney Creek ice cream better. Not as good as HD, but also not as expensive.

Awesome news! I, for one, welcome our new Guu-y overlords.
Kroepoek... or why is "Chinese" food different in various countries?
A lot of Indonesians of Chinese descent left the country during the 1960s to escape all the anti-Chinese violence. For whatever reason, Germany was one of the places they fled to. On both sides of my family, anyone who left Indonesia during that time went to Germany. (Many have since decamped for Canada, but that's another story)
Also, Indonesians are pretty adamant about having crunchy fried things with their food, so I would not be surprised if they felt it a necessary addition to any Chinese restuarant menu they were in charge of. If they added it to an Italian restaurant menu, I would still not be surprised. And kroepoek is pretty awesome; anybody would take that stuff and run with it.
Chinese New Year must-have dishes
I think this might depend on exactly where said Chinese people are from. Personally, I get most excited about the pineapple tarts:
http://esjoie.wordpress.com/2009/01/10/pineapple-tarts-galore/
...which are likely not even a new year's thing for most Chinese people, but are definitely part of the festivities if you're from Malaysia/Singapore/Indonesia.
Dim Sum restaurants in Mississauga?
Happy Jade, at Dixie and Dundas. I like them better than Summit Gardens.

Best Churrasco Chicken?
Oh, I am craving this stuff now. There's a place called Silva's BBQ that opened a few months ago at Tomken & Rathburn in the No Frills plaza. Great grilled chicken, and really really tasty sauce.

Ha! I was just wondering if this place is open yet! Thanks for your thorough review, BokChoi.
Do you know if they have nankotsu on the menu?
JapaDog: Anything Close in the GTA?
There was a thread a few days ago about the new hot dog vendor in the ACC. One of the hots dogs on offer is a 'Kobe Dog' with wasabi mayonnaise, Asian slaw, pickled ginger and toasted nori.

What foods say "home at last" to you?
Rice. A simple bowl of hot, fragrant rice with something slightly salty on the side. Doesn't really matter what -- a bit of fish, or even just a few drops of soy sauce. I swear I get crabby if I'm away from rice too long.
Bottled Tap Water
Because a bottle with "Tap Water" emblazoned on its size would be ever so much cooler than an old bottle or pitcher. How will the world know of your eco-friendliness otherwise? And then nobody will pat you on the back. Tragedy!
Is there a Toronto (or surrounding area) specialty?
By "numerous donut shops" you probably mean "numerous Tim Hortons", which is really about the coffee and not the donuts. People here are pretty set on their cup of Timmy's.
