gardent bakery ??? They're jerks. Apparently the owner also owns" A piece of Cake" in WEM. I had a $10 certificate from a wedding and they WOULD NOT honor it. The guy told me even though it says " A piece of Cake on the sign and Apiece of Cake on my certificate with the actual address it's really Garden Bakery. Wonder if I could complain to BBB?

Did anyone see the newsprogram that was speculating that Bottlehouse in Kensington is haunted or something to the efffect of why this spot keeps changing hands in spite of being in a really busy and happening area. I just got the teasers but missed the program.
Dim Sum Calgary and Edmonton?
Central Grand.. Best ??? Really on what days? We went on a Sunday and they pushed the same carts 3 or 4 times over. If I said no to cart once, I'm not going to change my mind and order if after it makes a few more laps around the resturant.
Forbidden City... dim sum wise... tiny cha sui cheung fun and some of the dumplings looked like they were the frozen kind.

Anyone know if Vlasis Pizza Resturant closed
yeah i like the dim sum place. It's not too bad. The only thing is the dim sum is limited. There were a lot of dishes we were not able to get and I did double check with the waitress. I'm thinking the dim sum prices were pretty much on par or just a little under with other resturants

good advice some eateries reallly need signage. Another one that needs signage is Famoso PIzza Edm SC. Haven't been there since they opened so they might have signage or maybe not.
Cantonese Chow Mein (Calgary)
I've also seen reviews for Pebble Street. I've been there twice. It's nothing to write home about. Just based on experience and from talking to others on this site, there's no reallly good Chinese Food in YYC. Even the resturant we love... U and Me ... had our stomachs in wreck after last weekend's dim sum.
Have you tried the Flamingo behind T and T? Never been there myself but it's been there for a long time.

Are there any cookware on tv worth getting?
For the general person, are there any good cookware or gadgets which are particularly useful ? I've tried the bullet blender but it doesn't work as well as shown on tv. I've also seen the infomercial on convection cooker that uses 3 types of heating source that kind of interested me.
We're just starting to cook and bake so any tips would be great! Thank you !

Losing your Marbles
We had lunch at China Marble Eton. Why is when other resturants are lowerin their prices, other places raise their prices? We had Brisket Chow Mein and Wonton Soup. The Brisket was really Lo Mein and The wonton soup had no noodles. In both cases, the dishes were very small and overpriced. We were still hungry when we left. Incidently they charged $2.00 more than their take out menu for the beef brisket Lo Mein. They charged $3 more for the soup that what was listed.
We won't be going back when there's other places to eat at.

Lo Mai Gai in Edmonton
Been looking for a good place for dim sum. I found Lo mai gai at Regency Seafood resturant in downtown. We took our friend for dim sum there just to try out Regency. Luckily that day everything was really good. We went again last weekend and it was not very good. There were not many people there around 1245 1 which is strange as it was not that late. We can't figure out which day was the anomaly whether it's usually good or bad. I suspect it's like every other Chinese resturant where it's a crap shoot.

Best Wings in Edmonton?
OK I know I said Outbacks has really great wings. Is the labor shortage still with us? Apparently today the wings on Wing Night Outbacks were baddddd. Soggy and uncooked on the inside. However on the bright side, the server was very helpful. I asked if I ordered another one would they be the same and he said he would make sure they were extra crispy and have the manager do something about the first plate. The second plate came out perfect and the manager comped the first plate even though I did not ask them for that. I pointed out that perhaps their oil was not hot enough as the it was extra oily. At the end they also included a 2 for one lunch card. Nice recovery Outbacks!
