LATE Sunday dinner in Paris....

Free to go anywhere- staying in the 1st

LATE Sunday dinner in Paris....

As if Sunday isn't tough enough, is there anything either really good or at least, fine but busy, that may be open for a 10 or 1030 dinner in Paris on a Sunday? I know that isn't especially late, but Sunday is Sunday.

Thanks for any help...

Can't remember the name of a pizzeria in Milan...description follows

Hi folks...

About four years ago I went to a terrific pizzeria in Milan. For the life of me I can't recall the name, though if I heard it I believe that I would recall. The only descriptions I can offer are as follows: You enter and walk in to the right. There is a voluminous pizza menu. The walls are full of paintings and drawings arranged in a haphazard way. It is quite large, with different sections if I recall. It was full on a Sunday with quite a queue. I know this is a longshot, but if not here, where? ....with thanks.

Warsaw recs requested

I will be in Warsaw for two days next week and would appreciate recommendations for two dinners and two lunches. Price is not an issue, though quality is, and for one of the nights I would like a particularly "Buzzy" and "busy" place if possible. Many thanks to all

Lunch between BHM and ATL

Hi- Im driving from Birmingham to Atlanta and was looking for a good lunch-BBQ or otherwise typical of the area. I know it isn't an earth-shatteringly great stretch of 'roadtrip" but a little gem would be appreciated...Thanks...

Rome Report...over due and REALLY REALLY LONG!

Sounds great....Thanks for the report!

White Truffles in Rome

I was wondering if A) It is still possible to get white truffles this late in the year. I know they have extended the season over the past few years...but I wasn't sure. And B) If it is possible, some recommendations in Rome where they do a good job with them, or have tasting menus etc...Sorry to be vague in the request....but you get the idea I hope...!

Grilled Pizza in Rome

Years ago I had a grilled pizza served from a street vendor in Rome. Now, a fewer number of years ago I read an article about Roman grilled pizza. As I am returning this month, I was curious if anyone knew of restaurants, pizzerie or stalls where grilled pizza is served. Many thanks...

Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra.....4 days

My brother and I ill be traveling on business midweek to Lisbon for two nights, then Cascais for two nights. Neither of us have been to Lisbon before. Any recommendations of great restaurants that will be open and busy in August would be appreciated. We are not on a budget at all, and want to eat at any "don't miss" places, as well as small and out of the way, even in such short time. Also any "happening" or "hip" places for dinner would be helpful as well. Many many thanks!

Sunday and Monday in Copenhagen

I've just learned that I need to be in Copenhagen, a city to which I have never been, next Sunday and Monday. I have learned that many of the better restaurants are closed on Sunday and Monday. I would love any recommendations for great food, but also with a lively or even a hip buzz, that are open o either of those nights...expense is not an issue for these two nights....Many thanks!

Sunday Dining in Rome

Hi- I am looking for some recommendations for Sunday lunch and dinner in Rome. I know that this is sometimes tough, but I want to try and avoid a "sleepy" Sunday restaurant. A busy or boisterous place with great summer pastas and outdoor dining would be preferred. Any favorites at any price are requested...Thanks!

PS This is a duplicate posting that I mistakenly placed on the Iinternational board originally...

Pizza in Rome

I am looking for an opinion about the best pizza ikn Rome from the following four recommendations from friends (who live in Venice however). I only have one pizza meal set aside, and its a lunch. Therestaurants are Pizza Re, Antico Forno Roscioli, La Poeta, and Baffetto....Thanks....

3 Nights in Budapest

Hello....I was hoping for some recommendations of places in Budapest not to miss in all price ranges. I would like places that "buzz" more than romantic places, but one night with a great view would be fabulous. Price isnt really an issue, but "in" places with great food would be most appreciated. Is that shallow? Oh well, it's true....thanks Chowhound.

One Night in Bratislava

Not quite as lyrical as "One Night in Bangkok" perhaps, but I do need a dinner. Any recommendations with attention paid only to food and atmosphere, and not price, would be appreciated....Many thanks....

Portland Late night Tuesday and Wednesday lunch

Hi- Im coming in to Portland on Tuesday night. I land at 9 PM and will take a cab downtown to my hotel. Are there any great, late night spots that will still be serving at 10?

Also- Am killing time until a 4 PM meeting on Wednesday. So I can have a great lunch on Wednesday as well. I would love some advice. Price is not an obstacle, but I'd love to try something illustrative of Portland cooking....I don't even know what that means...nut I'm all ears....

Thanks....

Dining alone in Paris Dec 22 and 23

Hello-
I am going to be alone in Paris for two days (3 real meals) and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for places that are busy and lively, but also good. I am not looking for ethnic food on this trip; just French. It is important that it not be a sleepy empty place, and for these days money is not much of an issue. Even if there are suggestions for eating at a bar that would be fine. I am just, and I don't mean for this to sound depressing, looking for something a bit scene-y and energetic....but delicious too..... two dinners and one lunch.....Many thanks

Barcelona on a Monday....any ideas?

Hi- I will be in Barcelona this Monday for one night and am looking for something great and fun if possible on a Monday. Price is not important....but Mondays seem slim pickings...Thanks!

Shrimp Salad Sandwich

Kings Road Cafe, on Beverly in WEHO has an interesting take on it. Its not my thing but I have a friend who loves the stuff, so if you're an aficionado you may want to check it out.

Barcelona on Sunday and Monday night....AYUDA ME!

Hi- Unfortunately I will be in Barca for business on a Sunday and Monday, in August no less. As I have no choice in the matter, please let me know if any of you can recommend some great spots that are open on those two nights. I will not be on a budget, and can go anywhere in town. It looks grim but I trust the board! Thanks....

Boston Steakhouse- Preferably not Chain

Hi Boston- We are visiting form Honolulu and Los Angeles and are looking for a great old Boston steakhouse that is not part of a chain. I don't know if such an animal exists because I haven't seemed to find one here or anywhere else. If an old classic does not exist; a new hip or fun spot would be just as good. Thamks...

Sunday in Milan

I will be in Milan for one night on business and am looing for a good and busy restaurant that will be open on a Sunday night. I have spent a good deal of time in Milan but none of my favorites are open on Sunday. Any ideas?

MIlwaukee Steak and B'fast RECS

Hi- Going to MKE for a baseball weekend and was looking for the best steakhouse in town with points given for liveliness as well. We are not looking for a somber place. We are staying downtown and would love a couple of breakfast spots as well, preferably close, though they need not be right downtown. Thanks Milwaukee.....

best omakase experience?

Having tried a number of the omakase in town, some repeatedly, my feeling is that Mori is hands down the best there is. The sushi is sublime, and the use of fruit and fresh vegetables in the prepared dishes makes it an amazing experience. I also like that they are not so bullheaded as to give attitude when you indicate that there is something you don't like. I give honorable mention to Taiko in Brentwood, very good when it is on, but too inconsistent to put with the status of Mori.

Best crab legs in Los angeles- do they exist?

The Palm just added King Crab Legs to their regular menu. They were delicious (better than their mediocre and inconsistent steaks). Their lobsters are two big for me as I prefer 1-1.5 pounders; I find them sweeter. The Palm is one place I return to depsite the food being only "ok;" I like the atmosphere. In short though the King Crab Legs are the new star of the menu...

Best Desserts in a Chain

CPK Key Lime Pie is outrageously good.

Cortona and beyond...

Hi- Going to Cortona and the Tuscan environs in April and was looking for some lunch spots and one dinner spot. We are eating at Il Falconiere as someones guest, otherwise I wouldn't ned so fancy a meal. Please let me know of any small town trattorie that may come to mind near, and including Cortona...Thanks

L.A. Egg Salad

I was wondering where Angelenos eat their egg salad. True egg salad appreciators know the fine and subtle differences between what they do and don't like in what seems like a simple, but remains a somewhat complicated dish. I personally have had many of the egg salads in the Hollywood-to-the-beach corridor and there are some good ones and some terribly unimpressive ones. My personal type of egg salad strikes a balance of mayonnaise where it is not runny at all, but dry from yolk either. If it almost "fake"looking when scooped it is fine by me. Additionally the egg needs to be well chopped, but not finely chopped. Long strands of yolk are unacceptable. My winners thus far are The Brighton Grill (well chopped and consistent (also important)), Greenblatts (Good but always towing the too-much-mayo line), Broadway Deli (even chop, good mayo dispersal), Bud's Deli (though the chicken salad is better, I do like their take on the egg despite the fact that it could use one more round of chopping) ...I don't care for Clementine's too-homemade-y style, nor the dry crumble at Coral Tree Cafe. This only touches on the subject at hand, but I'm interested in hearing more...
