Husband and I will fly in and out of Portland , so we need suggestions for one weekday lunch and one weekday breakfast. We are seafood nuts, and very interested in the locavore Portland scene.
Then we will be in Brunswick for several breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Close to Bwowdoin is best, but we can drive 20 minutes or so for a really worthwhile meal.

thank you toall...casa nueva was a delight...funky ,friendly, local ingredients well explained and well cooked and good heat in the spicy dishes...
obetty's is a don't miss...hole in the wall, fabulously weird hot dog combos that somehow work...a little embarrassed to say after we each ate one dog, we went and each ordered another! fries not bad, either,,,
and yes, Athens was a pleasant surprise on the foodie front

pork shoulder in crock pot
My first time doing pork shoulder, and am also new to crock pots. Aiming to do bbq pulled pork. I've dry rubbed the 7 lb shoulder...huge fat layer on bottom. Should the shoulder go in the crock pot (for 8-10 hours) fat side up or down? Does it matter? Also, throw in a cup or so of beer on the pot with the shoulder? Thanks for advice!
