V&T Pizzeria?
My friends and I all used to eat there too, in the '80's, on Amsterdam (around 112th Street?). Have often wondered why it was never mentioned in any of the NYC pizza posts. I rarely get up there to UWS these days. I'm curious if it's still in business. The West End closed, so it wouldn't surprise me if V&T suffered a similar fate.
Anyone know anything about it?
Looking for Good Butcher in Central Jersey
I don't know if this meets your geographical criteria, but I drive here from Mercer County when I want special, cut to order, meats: Ely's Farm Products. Here's some info (from their own website, but I've found it all valid, not just puffery).
"Ely Pork Products, Inc. was established in 1981 by Dwight Ely, a seventh generation farmer, on the historic Ely Farm which dates back to the late 1700's. Hogs, cattle, and hay are raised on the farm to help to supply the butcher shop with its quality meats. In eight recent years, Ely hams have placed first in national competitions held by the American Association of Meat Processors. Many additional products have won state and national awards as well.
In 2006, we changed our name to Ely Farm Products to better reflect the wide variety of products we sell. At this time we also began making our own European-style, raw-milk aged cheeses."
Here's their homepage; website includes driving directions.

KC Prime in Lawrence, NJ Reviewed
The prime cuts are identified as such; servers will make explicit which of the steaks are prime beef. We've been going there for years and have never had anyone there try to pass off "choice" (or lower) cuts as "prime".
As noted in a couple of posts below, the double cut lamb chops and the Ahi Tuna (which, when ordered "rare" is indeed served rare) are outstanding. The Ahi Tuna salad size is a tremendous bargain and can definitely be a meal unto itself.
Favorite Beer Bar Ever?
Yes! Let's hear it for Wildeman, in Amsterdam. Nothing wrong with Gollem('s), but I like this place the best. Then Monks, then the Schneider-Weisse Brauerie (sp?) in Munich.

DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies ~ Jersey
In that shopping center, but not in that store. It's part of the Risoldi's Supermarket there; Risoldi's expanded, opened a "cafe", selling sandwiches, hot food, and with a branch from the DeLorenzo Hamilton Ave pizza place. They have ovens, pizza makers, they make the pizzas to order, etc.
DeLorenzo's Tomato Pies ~ Jersey
FYI,
DeLo's (Hamilton Avenue branch) now operating in Risoldi's Thriftway on Quakerbridge Road (in the plaza with the RJohnson Fitness Center). Don't know why it hasn't been publicized more. Been there 3 times and it's the real thing.
Best Pizza in N.J.
An additional point: unlike the other Delo's, this one sells slices as well as whole pies. There's a wide range of other stuff available too, from the new Risoldi's cafe, including a salad bar, sandwiches, etc. None of that stuff is made by the Delorenzo's people, of course. They continue to sell only pizza (tomato pie, to be precise).

Please see my post below, re: new Delo's in Hamilton at Risoldi's SuperMarket :>)

New DeLorenzos in Risoldis Super Market's (new) cafe addition (in Hamilton, on Quakerbridege Road)! They're tied to the Hamilton Ave shop (the pie man told me); had a large sausage, garlic, mushroom, and basil (or maybe rosemary?) pie last night (it's one of their "gourmet pizzas) and it was terrific! The real thing.
They don't seem to have publicized it much, for some reason, so it's very easy to order and get your food without the long waits at any of the 3 other Delo's places. I almost hate to give up this "secret", but I want them to succed. Go for it tomato pie lovers, it's there!

Buffalo wings in and around surrounding counties of central jersey
Across from the Acme Plaza; in the same strip as the "Poorboys" sandwich shop. Had some Saturday, 2-2-08, for the 1st time in a couple of years. They are good.
Real Barbecue in Central Jersey
Hi,
This isn't in NJ, but it's right over the border, in PA:

Take a look at the Philly board. Every time I've been, it's been the real deal.
